International House Celta In Phuket Or Bangkok?

Featured Replies

Hello All

I am planning to attend the International House CELTA course in Thailand in July. I am thorn between Phuket & Bangkok. Have anyone of you done these courses with the International House? The course in Bangkok is offered all year long, but the course in Phuket is offered only once, and that is always in July. The advantage of Phuket (except being a beach destination) is that the accommodation is located on campus at the British International School, vs. the accommodation in Banglok located 40 minute bus & sky train ride from the school. Considering the intensity of the course, any convenience and close proximity would make a big difference I assume. As I don't know any of these locations, I am planning to sign up for the course package price which includes on campus accommodation & meals 3 times a day (Phuket) or acommodation only (Bangkok). I would truly appreciate your input, especially if you have completed the course in any of these locations. Thank you in advance!

The BIS in Phuket is on a 1st class campus; they tried to be like real Brit school but with Thai accents. Out in the countryside, very bucolic with some lakes etc. Check out their Website.

About 2 km along quiet road to the main N-S road, right by the Boat Lagoon Marina. Beaches are on the west side of island, about 1/2 hour away. But now the rainy season (until November), but even then get plenty of beach days.
