Hi, I was just reading a few threads on baby's and it occurred to me to check with the MRS the name on our thai birth certificates, on both our 2yr old and 4 week old it says her previous name before marriage?

I dont understand the logic in this as we have been married 3 years and her name is changed but it appears that on all birth certificates it will only say the mothers name before marriage and not the married name..does anybody know why they do that

I always thought that they used the name straight from the id card. Was the mothers ID card showing the married name?

Just looking at ours and Mrs has her maiden name showing.

It actually says on the Birth Certificate 'family name before marriage' so it seems like all of the birht certificates will never show the womens marrried name regardless of what it says on the ID card.

Im not sure but this is gonna be kinda confusing when i apply for a UK birth certificate if the official birth certificate says the wifes maiden name
