Being from the southern USA, I have a liking for iced tea. Although most other (US) Southerners prefer the super sweet variety - I need unsweet iced tea. McDonalds in USA has brewed, unsweet tea - McDonalds Thailand has no such thing.

I DO NOT want that filthy, disgusting, powdered, fake, lemony swill that some places try to pass off as iced tea. (Shame on you Hard Rock Cafe for offering that to me.) I just want plain, brewed, iced tea.

Suggestions?

Sizzler offers unsweetened tea for 59 baht. Such a deal. Haven't tried it but maybe it tastes like American unsweetened tea. They offer unlimited refills on sweet tea there, no refill for unsweetened. I know what you mean about sweet tea in the US south, when you ask for unsweetened there, you are definitely an oddball. There seems to be a universal rule that super sweet drinks are more popular in hot areas of the world.

Big C carries a brand..I think it called "English Tea" . No sugar, just right. Not that "lemonoud" crap..

Comes in a plastic bottle. I think it was like ฿ .35 a bottle.

For the first couple 'o years here, I was always "hurtin" for some good 'ol iced tea like back home ( SW USA ) and this was as close as I could find...so far.

I cannot believe that a southerner dosen't like sweet tea :)

why not make it yourself?

I buy green tea leaves not bags,Japanese/Chinese is best, and make up a brew then add lemon or lime to suit, limes are much easier to find here.

Poured over crushed ice its the most refreshing of drinks, better than beer.

Hi, I bought a large bag of Cha Malee in Chiang Rai for 40Baht, it is Oolong/Jasmine, makes a real good base for ice tea, just brew a strong cup and add it to a large bottle of water and let sit in fridge. You should be able to buy it around Bangkok, just ask someone where to buy Cha Malee.

Hmmmm...Sizzler is an option. Make it myself? Surely you jest!? Actually pull out the iced tea maker....uuuughhhh. The US$1 McDonald teas made me lazy as - strangely - it seemed easier to drive to McDonalds than make teat at home.

Sadly, the Southern US has been under soft attack from the Northern US and all of the Yankees seeking lower taxes and warmer weather have moved to Raleigh and brought with them their food. The one good thing from this attack is more unsweet tea in the area....and my wife from PA, but that's it.
