My Non Imm B finishes on 4th July, My work permit expires on 2nd August. Can I extend my Non Imm B for 30 days at Immigration or will I have to leave and get a new one?

I am trying to get them to tally so when I renew my work permit I can apply for the one year Non Imm B, up to now I have been leaving every 3 months as we never had the correct ratio.

If I can extend I will leave end of July to get new Visa and then attend to get new permit on 2nd August, or will it be better to leave 4th July and get new Non Imm B visa then just apply for new permit in August and extend Visa for one year at that point.

Thanks

You can not obtain a 30 day extension of a non immigrant visa entry so it would appear you need to obtain a new visa entry and if you qualify for one year extension of stay do that later after you get the new work permit.

No 30 days available.

The only option is a full year extension.

So indeed in your case, going abroad, get a new non immigrant B visa based on holding work permit, coming back, extend existing work permit and then extend your stay based on employment.

Just to avoid confusion, a visa is what you hold when entering Thailand (issued by embassy/consulate), anything beyond the first 90 days without leaving Thailand are extensions (issued by immigration).

So you'll be applying for a 1 year extension, not a 1 year visa!

thanks for the replies, will there be any issue getting the non imm B considering the work permit is due to end?

Renew the work permit by one year before you go.

KL wants you ta have at least eight months left on WP to give you a 1 year non-B.

KL is the only place in the region that will give you a 1 year non-B

I typed a reply that seems to have disappeared.

Will the Labour department renew my work permit early, I will need to go this month for visa as my parents are here next month for holiday?

If they won't renew my wp this early I will go HCMC for three month, will a 3 month be issued with only 6 weeks left on WP?
