Atm Cards Buying On The Internet

Recommended Posts

I've been here a while and my credit cards have long since expired and;foreign bank accounts closed. ;So I have a pocket full of ATM &;M/C /Visa Electronic but cannot use them to buy stuff on the internet. Most banks require a work permit to get their credit cards. ;So how can I buy stuff on the internet without a credit card? Any useful tips or advice? Thanks in advance.

Kasikorn bank makes it pretty easy.

First you have to get an account with them.

Then, make that account accessible via internet (cyber banking they call it)

Then, sign up for their "K-web shopping card"

I already had the account and the cyber banking and then needed to buy something online.

It only took 1 day to add the K-web shopping card function and I bought my air ticket the next day.

Went pretty smooth.

Good luck.

Without a doubt the easiest way is Kasikporn like fiddlehead stated, its very easy. Ive been using webcards from kasikorn for the past 4 years, in this time ive booked flights and hotels etc also bought online music. You can also use it to start an ebay account based in Thailand on ebay.com

The Bangkok Bank B1st Debit Card and it works very well! I use it all the time.

If you have an older card B1st card that doesn't have the VCC number on the back, you can go to any Bangkok Bank branch (including the mini branches)in your area and they will exchange it for a new one at no charge.

For example: I opened my account at the Pratamnak branch in Pattaya and exchanged the card at the Lotus mini-branch in South Pattaya. Took about 10 minutes.

I also have the free SMS notification service. So as soon as it's debited, I receive an SMS message on my mobile phone. It helps protect you from fraudulent use and lets me know my order on the Internet has been processed.

I also used it to link to my PayPal account. You can get the PayPal transaction reference codes, when you set up your PayPal link calling the Bangluang Customer service 1333 number.

I entered my card information in PayPal (you'll need someone who can read Thai to select the bank code). Waited a couple days then called the Bangluang 1333 number. Got the PayPal code over the phone and entered it into my PayPal account to validate it. Now I have two ways to make purchases over the Internet. Some sites such as eBay, do not use credit/debit cards to make purchases, so you need to set up the PayPal account.

I use PayPal on sites that I don't want to trust with Debit card information. Then on sites that don't use PayPal, I use my B1st Card.

Works great!

I do not recommend Kasikorn bank.. In January, some worker using a copied letter of mine, took out 250,000 baht from my account. All without one bit of permisson from me. :(

Guys this is how you do it.... I had been frustrated for ages not being able to buy air asia online without 1, although now you can buy domestic with debit card.

I have account with bangkok bank. You have to deposit in a 1 year account an amount equal to the credit limit you want. I did that at bkk bank in kad suan kaew. in theory you cant touch this money although you do get interest. they send you a written statement each month and direct debit from your savings account the full amount. from application took 3 weeks. i asked for master card and in their kindness they sent me master card, visa card and amex, all with a limit of how much i deposited.

hope this helps

I recommend Kasikorn banks system, you get an atm card from them, then apply for cyber banking as well as the web shopping card.

You can change your spending limits using cyber banking and you can allow only a certain amount to be used on the web shopping card.

The web shopping card has its advantage because you dictate the cards limit, which you can set to zero.

The webshopping card works like this - you have a regular Kasikorn ATM card, then you apply for the web shopping card as well as cybr banking account - its not actually another card you will get, its a seperate credit card number with CVV and expiry date linked to your ATM card which you can use to make purchases online.

Kasikon's system is more secure than Bangkok Bank, whenever you access the cyber banking account to change your web shopping card parameters, an SMS will be sent to your phone literally within seconds, this SMS contains the OTP code needed to access your web shopping account (not the cyber banking account).

Whenever a trascation is made an email is sent to your email address, but this can take a day or more , sometimes its instant though.

I had the Bangkok Bank setup when it first came out years back, I got hacked the first time i tried linking it to paypal.

which branch? is she still working there? How did she take your money without your bank book... and how did you catch her?

What kind of letter?

Yes, I am sure she still works there, and I talked about it with the manager, so at least he knows and does ??? :)

The location should remain blank, but this is to warn people like me, who have lived here for a long time, (and I have had

Kasikorn accounts from the beginning) and our familiarity usually means 'extra help' and such, should still keep their

eyes looking at everyone, all the time ;)

Then that is a criminal act - have you informed the police? A friend of mine had 8000 pounds taken from his account by the bank manager in some small branch out in Udon. He only knew because the Thai police located him - in England - to get him to confirm withdrawals. He had been skimming rarely used accounts, and some one had noticed and called in the BiB. For all the stick they get, they did a pucker job that time.

K-Web shopping card. Anybody used this to book flights?

I've just booked a flight to Singapore with Silk Air, how do you get round the problem of being able to show the credit card used for the booking at check in, as this is now stipulated for most airlines.

Cheers :jap:

Be aware that some airlines demands to see your Credit Card during Check in.

This applies to Bangkok airways.

And Qatar Airways, they specifically point out on their website that virtual cards cannot be used to make a booking as the card needs to be shown at check in.

I have used my Kasikorn Web Card to make bookings with Air Asia, and didn't have a problem flying.

You would certainly encounter a problem using you Kasikorn Webcard with Silk Air, this is a lift from their website

The credit card holder will be required to present the credit card used for this purchase upon check-in. Hence, virtual or single-use credit cards are not allowed.

I suggest you contact Silk Air for advice.

The problem is that whilst all airlines will accept online bookings, some insist on seeing the credit card at check in and some don't, there really needs to be a consistant approach.
