Worldcup - Holland

Amazing there's so much discussion about all the other countries -left- and a little about one of the TOP favorites to win the Worldcup: HOLLAND

There were just 2 countries who won all 3 games in the first round: Argentina and Holland, both with 9 points.

My prediction is that Holland will meet in the final: either.........Argentina - Germany or Spain.....:whistling:

OK...shoot, but don't kill.

Indeed Holland has very big chances in this WC, even more if Robben is fully fit. However, they will probably face Brazil in the next round and I do not see the Dutch defense capable of stopping Kaka, Robinho and company.

Cheers

A likely possibility indeed but we shouldn't forget that Brazil didn't have an answer to Portugal for 2 x 45 min and in the end it was 0-0.

Holland has some of the best in the world like Van Persie, Robben, Wesley Sneijder (EU Champion with Inter Milan!) Kuijt and a few more; Brazil isn't unbeatable for sure.

That they won over North Korea with a mere 2-1 and Ivory Coast with 3-1 says it all.

I think Argentina would be a much tougher cookie to swallow!

We will have a nice Holland vs Brazil in quarter final.

Brazil have played well last night, Chile was no rival at all.

Strange enough, I believe that for the first time ever Brazil do have the best defense in the world. It is very solid but they can also score ( see Maicon, Lucio, Juan ).

Enjoy the match on Friday. Brazil 3 - Holland 2

Brazil are looking the complete team. Clinical and stylish, solid at the back. Can't see the weakness. They might even have the best keeper!!!!! :o

Dunga is making his critics (myself included) eat their words. Holland have won their games. to their credit, but, as yet, i have seen little in their armoury to touch the Brazillians.

No, not impossible but a bit unlikely. However, Holland do have the match winning players and on their day could do something special.Really looking forward to this.

I saw Brazil play this morning! <-----first time Im using this emoticon on this forum. MiGgie is usually not afraid of anything - in real life or in forum life (well ok apart from the odd running out of chocolate supplies, or fearing the doctor may one day advise me I need to give up chocolates for some bizarre health reasons!) that should tell you something.

Holland did not impress me at all in their games, despite the victories.

Against Slovakia, just Robben saved the game. Van Persie, Kuyt and Sneijder were not up to their potential. Were is the nice short pass play gone? Not very speedy as well...

I think they'll have a mission impossible against Brazil.

So far none of the teams has been outstanding, so the Dutch sure have a chance.

Normally the Dutch play a beautiful game, this time they are more businesslike and effective. So it could be their time has come.

Holland has got a very good team, but they ll have to step it up. Give a good team the goal opportunities Slovakia had a couple of times yesterday, they ll score at least 2 or 3 out of them.. Can't wait to see how they perform against the real boys :-)

Don't despair miggy, I think Holland have got enough to compete with the Brazillians, and I will most certainly be cheering them on.

They never let you down........:D

Wesley-Sneijder_2467464.jpg Sneijder: No Van Persie row

Wesley Sneijder insists that he has not fallen out with striker Robin van Persie ahead of Holland's World Cup quarter-final against five-times champions Brazil in Port Elizabeth on Friday.

The Arsenal striker was unhappy at being substituted in Holland's 2-1 second round victory against Slovakia in Durban and had been accused of suggesting to Dutch coach Bert van Marwijk that Sneijder should have been the man to be replaced with 10 minutes remaining in the match.

Van Persie has scored just one goal against Cameroon at the finals and has struggled to find his best form following an injury-hit season with Arsenal.

Inter Milan ace Sneijder has played down reports of a falling-out with the 26-year-old after they were both reportedly summoned for talks with Van Marwijk following Monday's match.

"Robin assured me that he had not said those words and I have no reason to doubt him," said Sneijder, who went on to score what proved to be the match-winning second goal against Slovakia.

"I don't have a problem with him and I never have done. He was disappointed to come off, that one can understand and it really isn't a serious matter."

Unity

Sneijder insists that there is a real sense of unity in the Dutch squad, unlike in previous tournaments.

"We will be united as never before against Brazil," he said.

"We have already drawn a line under the last 16 match and we will be 120 per cent raring to go against Brazil."

The winners of the quarter-final will play the victors of Friday's other last-eight tie between Uruguay and Ghana.

Van Persie apologized to the coaching staff and his fellow players and case closed.

NOTHING should disturb the focus on Brazil's match tomorrow.

Hup Holland HUP !

This was - BY FAR- the most exciting game I've seen in a long time and also the most exciting game during the WC 2010. My heartbeat went direction 200.....:shock1::shock1:

In the second half Holland had so many chances it could have been easily 3, 4 or even 5-1 and sorry to say, but Brazil lost their minds completely in the 2nd part of the 2nd half.

The best team won; no doubt.

Well done Holland!!!! A dominating performance as much as anyone can dominate Brazil, now I'm secretly hoping this is your year....From the end of the first half it was obvious you were taking control of the match and once the own goal was scored from that point on they put Brazil off their game and Brazil then began to get real physical and frustrated not accustomed to being handled like that.. Top match by your boys..

One criticism though as you already mentioned they could have scored more and they are going to have to put those chances away in future matches to advance or prevail overall...
