Medical & Counselling Clinic

Featured Replies

Today I came across a website after seeing an ad in today's City Life (link)

classifieds.http://www.chiangmainews.com/classifieds_job/view.php?id=27203

The website is: http://www.medicalonesolutions.com/#

It states there are two foreign trained doctors in the practice, one general, one hypnotherapist/counsellor and it gives fees.

I know there are people on TV that have previously asked about counselling and hypnotherapy.

Does anyone know anything about this service?

I looked at the link. I am happy with my doctor but the hypnotist kind of intrigued me. Not much info. I was turned of immediately when it said to use paypal before attending you appointment. Not much in the way of what the hypnotist can do for you. Just general statement.

I personally would not recommend them. That is not to say they are fakes but they leave to much uncovered and want the money first.

Yes, I know what you mean and the paypal thing certainly looked strange.

Amazing what pops up out of the blue in Chiang Mai.

Charges for ongoing hypnotherapy are 1,000 Baht.....in the UK this would be more like 5,000 baht for an hour, if not more.

Why set up in Chiang Mai?

Maybe they will see this and give us more info.

Something does not look/feel right about that website or the services it offers... No address; only "Nimmanhaemin, Chiang Mai" It looks so sterile and the Paypal thing...in Thailand??? Also no mention of the practitioners qualifications/licenses to practice in Thailand. I dunno....I'd give it a pass...

I agree the whole website has no 'feeling' about it.

People seeking counselling, psychotherapy etc, are probably quite distressed as it is. I hope this isn't a site set up to try and dupe cash out of vulnerable people looking for help.

I have PTSD and Depression, I have seen a Dr down near Tesco Lotus Hang Don road, did not want to mention the Dr's name. As I will be staying it looks like a long time hopefully, I was looking at co ordinating treatment from my treating Dr's here in Perth and the Dr that I have found to be very good in CM.

She has advised me that her recomendation for Psychiratrists is one at the hospital that I can not remember the name of at the moment but it is not Chiang Mai Ram. She was unaware of a Psycotheraprists in CM.

But there maybe some good one's in CM. I am very happy with the arrangement I have got now and can get the medicines that I get from Australia and all is co ordinated through the Dr's in Perth and now the Dr in CM.

There is a psychiatrist that works at CMU and works quite a bit with PTSD (something relatively new for Thailand). He also travels around the world on speaking engagements. He speaks excellent English having studied and worked in US and Canada I believe. He is Dr. Sombat Panya and he also teaches Aikido at the CMU Aikido Club.

I suspect we have the same doctor. One of her good points for me maybe not others is that she does not recommend Ram. The hospital she recommended is the one across from the holiday inn.

She is relativly new in Chiang Mai and has yet to find out all the little hidden nooks and crannies in the medical field. She had me bring in every thing I use and one product she was not familiar with traced it down found out what was in it and recommended I stop using it. I use Niacin for my cholesterol and it is hard to find here in Chiang Mai. So she has it brought in from Bangkok for me. It is avalable here but I was not that impressed with it. To low a dosage.

Thanks hml367

I will certianly keep the information as it maybe very usefull indeed for me .

thanks again

Philip

Sawasdee Khrup, Khun Elektrified, Khun UpTheos,

We "second that emotion:" the site smells bogus to our nose.

The first question we'd want an answer for if we were to go to any clinic is : what are the "real credentials" the "Doctors" have, and, equally important, are they licensed to practice in Thailand by some official Thai body.

Okay, perhaps there is no official "hypnotherapy" accreditation in Thailand: there's still the question of whether the person claiming to be a hypnotherapist has a valid work permit, or is operating within the scope of Thai law. We know from experience (our first ex-wife's older brother) that any nutcase can get a diploma from any number of schools of "hypnosis," etc. in "new-age" California ... just on the basis of paying some money, and maybe showing up once in a while and mumbling.

Perhaps some of you would enjoy a little reading-up on the scientific study of susceptibility to hypnosis (Stanford Scale and other scales): Susceptibility to Hypnosis

We, ourselves, cannot be hypnotized, only dazed, entranced, and turned into lust-bunnies, by the endorphins of the females of our mutual species which is frightening because we cannot afford mating here.

best, ~o:37;
