Gee sus, I clicked on the pix of the B-King and my computer just about went into melt down!

What's with that?

Maybe someone from the Tiger Club can answer this. I don't understand Tiger Motorcycles. Pattaya has to be one of the largest markets for motorcycles in Thailand, yet they do not bother to show up at the Pattaya Motor show or have any direct representation at all in that City. They almost seem satisfied to sell bikes primarily to the Thai Police. I've been wanting to see the Tiger 250 and went to the show looking for it.

Why don't they market their motorcycles with more enthusiasm?

I know the moment my Nokia saved the pic it switched itself off hahahahaha.

Someone must have a sense of humour to build a bike that looks like something out of the Transformers!!!

I hear ya, I went to check out the dealer in BKK early this year and it was a complete joke.

The street sign was probably half a meter in size so it was very hard to even find the dealership.

They didn't even have a Boxer in the showroom and there was only one guy with any sales knowledge.

One guy in sales for all of BKK must mean they sell very few bikes.

With no official website or promotional activity It's almost like they are avoiding business and are a money laundering cover.

I'm guessing they are either very happy where they are in the market (non-existent) or it is the dumbest manufacturer in the world.

Seriously, what company doesn't have a website these days?

6 year old kids have their own websites these days.

The Retro looks cool and the TT150 looks fabulous in pictures but I have yet to see any on the road.

Is the TT150 actually for sale yet?

I cant recall one at the BKK motor show?

I've never seen anything but a Boxer on the road, 99% were police models but the few civilian models I saw looked pretty cool (for the money).

Its a pretty sad scenario when your own country doesn't believe in your products and so the company barely tries to promote itself.

I stumbled on the motorshow by accident on Saturday. Some pretty impressive machinery. Was not impressed by Honda's showing. Wanted to see a CBR1000rr in Thailand, but alas...they seemed to be more interested in their rinky dink scooters. The Porsche 996 racer on the bottom floor was also particularly cool. B)

A couple of points about Tiger. 1st they are a small company that sell most of their bikes outside Thailand. 2nd the Boxer 250 is pretty much a made to order bike. 3rd most smaller Thai companies have either crap or non existent websites. 4th the T150 is not yet available due to the stupid Thai emissions testing. 5th you can get any and all info and order any Tiger / Sachs bike here on TV simply by clicking the Tiger sachs header at the top of the forum. 6th Maybe they did not know that there was a pattaya bike show.

And TT yes pretty much it is dumb for them not to have a test bike. but saying that not ALL the other bigger more expensive makes have test bikes.

I've got to agree, albeit reluctantly as the Retro + sidecar looks great in the flesh (even if the brakes don't work!) and I'd love to buy a TT150 with a sidecar. A few months ago they had a stand in Tesco/Lotus Pattaya Tai, then one in Carrefour, and retros with and without sidecars on show in at least two dealers on Sukhumvit. Now there's nothing and neither of those dealers stocks them anymore (or is willing to say why).

They come with a decent warranty, but I can't see how its meant to work as any repairs appear to be done by a team of mobile mechanics in Bangkok, while elsewhere it looks as if repairs and mechanical parts are cheap so most people probably pay for the local Somchai to do anything that's necessary - and ordering a bike by mail order may be fine if you want to cut out the middleman, but most people I know prefer to at least see a real motorbike first even if they can't ride it, and to have someone/somewhere to go to locally if there are any problems. They're cheap, but they're not that cheap!

I'm keen to buy one, but if there's limited or no spares and no servicing available except at the factory &/or in Bangkok then I'll probably just stay keen, which is a pity.

John. Mbox will be along to answer in full. but here's my 2 pence. You can arrange a test ride at the factory which is actually the Pattaya side of Bangkok. For normal service work any Mobil oil service centre can handle that. If you get any bigger problems Tiger come to you, if they can not repair there and then they take it back to the factory then return it to you fixed (all part of the warranty). I have just heard that one of the 1st Tiger 250's has just clocked 50,000km's in 18mths with no major problems.

As for the dealers at bigC etc that is Pbike and they just used Tiger to get more of a foothold in the cheap bike segment (i told Khun Pariya from Tiger that Pbike were crap last year)

Sounds very reasonable (particularly as what I presume is one of the mini Mobil oil service centres you mention has opened up a few minutes away, and the warranty's quite long) - but what happens after the warranty expires? If you have to take the bike to the factory yourself, or get Tiger to take it and bring it back, that's hardly reassuring.

I could be totally wrong, but can you name any Honda or Suzuki dealership that will let you test ride a bike? I do know that Kawi NakWan will let you test drive some of their bigger bikes.....

Aren't most motorcycles Pbike sales made by Tiger?

Thanks for posting the pics. I'm curious as to who was displaying the bikes was it the companies such as Suzuki and Yamaha themselves or someone else ? Reason I ask I didn't think the Hayabusa for instance was for sale in Thailand

Hi there,

Coincidental i came across this thread...so i'd like to answer some questions.

Why did Tiger not show on the Pattaya Bike Show? I can't answer that really but will check on it.

There seems to be a misunderstanding that people think just because there is no Tiger/Sachs dealership there would be no service to Tiger/Sachs Bikes. This is not true. There are Service Centers (often also dealer/service center to other Brands) nationwide and the Owners of Tiger/Sachs Bikes will be advised accordingly ...but to be assured there is an after sales service ( by Tiger/Sachs Motors) , and you'll be able to get that in english too .

About Tigers Internet representation....it is quite alright really, here is tigers official website www.tigermotor.co.th and if you feel that english suits you better www.tigersachsclub.com should cover your needs. Tiger/Sachs Club is an info Page for Tiger/Sachs Bikes & Online Sales Agent , there is also an Forum where you will be answered all question in English (& german) plus there is an Online Shop where you can order your Bikes online (which will be sent to your home or nearest Postoffice- depending on location )

Pbike is a a seller of Stallions and Tiger Bikes( think other brands as well) here is their website: http://www.p-bike.net/index.php i can't comment on their service really but as for the Bikes purchased from them of the Tiger Brand the same warranty terms apply (3 years or 30000km, whichever comes first).

I have seen more than a few times that dealers are simply not interested to help if the need arises, or are just not able to understand english enough to serve the needs of an english spoken customer .....and often Tiger/Sachs Motors gets the blame for this .For issues like this the Tiger/Sachs Forum is here ...those who find time to take a look can see , there were quite a few people helped already.

Testrides is an ongoing question and people specially wonder about the seating comfort and position from the Tiger Boxer . My best suggestion is ...ask with a smile a Police Man to have a test on his Boxer...i did the same before and they were glad to let me look sit and even a little spin on it. Another option is to make a visit at Tiger Showroom in BKK i have address and google earth placemarker uploaded here:http://www.tigersachsclub.com/Contact.html ....but i need to really emphasise that you must "Make an appointment"in order to avoid disappointment. I mentioned this numerous times before but people don't want to listen and think they walk-in at the showroom will do the trick....these are precisely the ones who had a disappointment for not seeing nor testing a boxer or the bike they wanted to see.

A few month ago Tiger/Sachs Club did arrange a factory Tour which also included bike testing at the Factory premises- it was a very good success with a higher than expected visitors coming. When time allows and if Tiger Motors is ok with this i may try to arrange another such tour...

To those who seek for the TT150 ...it is still unknown when it will be available...same goes actually for the Sachs X-road 250 ( for different reasons ) ...and i do also know that there is a new Tiger Model in development which i am certain will be liked by many.

To reply to another poster wishing to buy a Tiger Retro 110C with sidecar , it can also be ordered online, will be delivered to your location. Info on Service Center will be provided as well . "Bigbikebkk" ordered his retro w/dsidecar online at Tiger/Sachs Club and posted extensively about it on Thaivisa and on other Forums.

What happens after the Tiger warranty expires? You may have to pay for broken/worn parts but service Center will still be there to do the work on it...and to be honest , Tiger Bikes aren't exactly hightech, rather"lowtech" actually...any "side of the road" shop will be able to fix it...and if you need a spare part that is also no problem, it will be shipped out from Samut Prakarn by EMS it can be there in a very short time (days) ...some of the parts on Tiger Bikes do also interchange from other manufacturers so you don't have to always wait for a shipping from factory really .

I hope i did answer all question...if i missed something please let me know,

happy trails,

Sounds fair to me ...... all I have to do is wait for the TT150!

I hope their developing yet another model when they already have two fully developed, shown and eagerly awaited (no CBR 150s anymore!) but not yet in production won't hold things up.

Thanks for the info, Mbox, as always.

(edit: WO, 6 August is advertised as the last day)

Nor is the GSXR, nor is the Gladius. They're all here but grey import only. So yes I'd like to know too who was displaying those bikes. Suzuki? A dealer?

Hi John, I know what you mean but the hold up (on the X-road in particular ) is dependent on other issues too...such as part supply and the emission testing.

I find when Tiger Develop some new model,a very good thing, don't think it will hold up on the pending models really ...but just to have it said i will double check today on the situation of th TT150 . will let know more if there is anything in sight,

happy trails,

When I was looking at the GSXR1000 in Central, someone in a Suzuki shirt came up to me and told me that the GSXR1000 was not for sale. But he told me that the GSXR1300 Hayabusa was for sale.

Haven't asked him how and what exactly because i wasn't interested in the Hayabusa.

Also Mityon is advertizing with the Hayabusa in their brochures on the show.

About Suzuki big bikes, on their website they have the Hayabusa, GSXR1000 and GSXR750 (and many more models). Last year on the motorshow in BKK they offered a GSXR750 for somewhere around 700.000 baht.

But i didn't contact Suzuki Thailand to find out what they really offer here and not.

Dealers are displaying the bikes, mainly Mitiyon I think.

Can't say for sure and don't know how fast the new model's development progresses but i could imagine that we will see the first Prototype next year ?

I shall also mention as feedback to the TT150 availability ...Tiger is doing currently some new joint ventures(assemble or design & produce)for different brands , the TT150 shall be following right when the joint ventures ( of which some are new models to them) are running . I would also imagine that this is likely rather next year ...but i could be wrong. There was no dates given and some can only speculate of when it will be available.

The Pattaya Bike show ....as feedback" Tiger did not intend to be there"(also it was mentioned as merely a local event). Tiger has set a limited budget for advertising/shows and even at the last Bkk motorshow (Bitec) Tiger did not have its own stand but they did show some of their models on the Stallion Stand....so they did hold a bit back on " Presence at Bikeshows" this year. It may have something to do with the global recession and playing it safe with spendings but the times will come better again and surely will resolve in presence from Tiger/Sachs on Bikeshows again.
