Pedistal Fans

Does anyone know where you can purchase the retaining ring that holds the fan guard together.

They are a standard size like the fan blade which is easy to purchase, we have asked around and cannot find them anywhere.

Basement of Big C the misc electrics Store. Try hardware store too as they have the blades..

Make sure you bring your broken one, you would be surprised how many their are!

Isn't the retaining ring part of the front fan guard? I've never tired to take the ring off of the guard and I've never seen them separate from the front fan guard, nor have I seen them for sale. What size is your fan? My neighbor is a junk guy and I know he has fan parts. He sold me a used whole working pedestal fan for 200 Baht.

Jim007, you never took the ring guard off to clean the blades? Ask the gf.

Yes, I've taken the front and back off the fan guard to clean as well as the blade. But the plastic ring is attached to the front of the guard. I guess it may come off the front guard, but I really don't want to try it as I don't want to break it. And I did ask her and she said she's never seen them sold separately either... And she says you can only buy the blade... So finding a used one from another fan maybe the best solution... Other than buying a new fan.

but how does the blade stay in place?

I replaced mine before..so no need to buy a new fan.

The retaining ring comes of on all three of our fans unfortunately one retaining ring broke when the fan fell over when shifting house.

The fan blade is held on with a plastic nut with a reverse thread on it.

Are you talking about this blue ring? If so, I haven't seen them sold on their own. But as I said my neighbor may have one...

No I suspect hes talking about the reverse threaded plastic locknut that holds the fan blades in place. Theres also a secondary threaded 'nut' for want of a better term holding the rear wire screen in place.

The missus found new blades for a fan that expired spectacularly once.. Tho thats as much as I know on where she got it from.

I showed my neighbor the picture and he has some. I'm in Rawai not far from the Wat. If you are interested, I'll ask him how much. What color do you want? Not sure what colors he has.
