hi all, i'm somewhat familiar with the ares between sukhumvit and the beach but really know nothing about surrounding areas.

are there any more natural areas surrounding pattaya, with say mountain views, open fields, green, clean air, low traffic, low B.S. but not too far from shopping and nightlife?

thx steve

The whole area south East of Ban Ampur is very nice, Phoenix Golf club area, Buddha Mountain and Silver Lakes and the famous temples at Wat Yan between Phoenix and Silver Lakes even over the other side of the 331 there are some very beautiful hills and open areas.

Before and after that vineyard is nice walking, after is a small national park. There's a big golden buddha painted on the mountain side there, I'm sure someone will be able to direct you to this.
