Terry Jacks sings an excellent version of the song.

On Youtube there are many other versions, including Nirvana, Beach Boys, Kingston Trio.

My favourites are the original by Brussels singer Jacques Brel and Rod McKuen.

Ah those Greeks....

How about this one? Melina Mercouri  - then actress, singer, later minister of culture - singing Never on Sunday.

A song about a prostitute who is "seeing" the local football team, one player a day, except for sundays (her day off from work).

I dare you, try to keep your fingers under control....

The full movie is on thepiratebeach.eu for free.

I wasn't puttin' you down, man...yer a pal...

I just got a  bit depressed thinkin' about post Peter Green Fleetwood Mac...and some friends at the time: 'I like them better now...' oh, boo hoo...like bein' released from the hospital with a new lobotomy...

glory days before the wide popular appeal...

Fleetwood Mac with Peter Green you could listen to on acid...

I don't believe it!!! After listening to Mad river, I clicked a few times on You Tube's suggestions, and I now feel born again....

It's Jimi and early Led, and Purple and everything, and it's less than 10 years old.

Radio Moscow - they are young enough to be my grandchildren.

Maybe it was not such a good idea after all, to stop listening to the radio in 1978 (after new wave ended).

And they have 5 full albums on You Tube!
