Car Rental In Chaweng Area

Featured Replies

Hello Folks, can anyone recommend a reasonably price car rental company in the chaweng area and also offers Fully Comp Insurance.

Ive come across CH Tours which offer a small Suzuki Jeep for 1000 Bhat per day. I think this is a little expensive for a 2 seater, 1.3L jeep. Is it possible to get any cheaper?

Thanks

they are normally 600-800 THB

Agreed and for that price you should be able to hire a nice toyota vios, as I have done many times for friends.

Where would I find these prices? Have you any links to a website?

In deeeeeeeeep and daaaaaaaaaark Isaaaaaan......(maybe)

Listen mate....if you want to risk driving around in a sub-standard car with probably not a good insurance then go to a cheap??? Thai outfit, but personally I would use budget car hire which is an international rental company and maybe it might cost a few baht more but you know what you are getting. The going rate for a suzuki jeep is about 800 baht I think but you would be much safer and more comfortable hiring a vigo pick up or similar but I doubt if you will find one for less than 1500 baht a day.

If you have read about all the jet ski scams then it is the same for bikes and cars, so just keep that in mind when you choose who to hire it from.

Hope this helps a bit.

A friend of mine hired a small jeep from the small travel shop outside Samui Natien resort in Chaweng, cost 800 a day, he did have a small accident, he 'collected' a motorsy, as is all to easy to do! Didn't end up much of a drama or cost, i think he paid the owner of the jeep a couple of thou for repairs and 'off road' time and the motorsy fella got 1,000, cops were ok, jeep owner turned up and was ok too. You need to be careful but all in all he was quite happy.

i'm not sure if Budget have anything in Chaweng but I used them via the Thai Visa website (but that was for Chiang Rai) and a Vigo truck cost me 1200 a day all insured and a nice truck too. Dunno if you'd end up paying if you had an accident, you probably would, especially if you didn't have full cover.

Check the website out and then check the travel shop too, the guy in there is nice and helpful. There's a small 7-11 just next to it, small little row of shops tucked away on the left of 7 as you look at it.

Both these sites are hopeless

Really? I used the Thaivisa one in May and it worked, when I clicked through on the budget one it wanted me to call them but I suppose that would work. I didn't try the number though.

Car Hire Koh Samui is the best and reasonable one to enjoy in Chaweng. Its price starts from £9.00 per day and includes fully comprehensive insurance, waiver for collision damage and vehicle theft. Also you get full breakdown assistance, unlimited mileage and liability insurance. It offers all the benefits which you can expect from a car rent company and that too at quite reasonable price.

What kind of vehicle do they offer for 450 baht???(we talk about cars, not motosai)

Funny, what website did you get that from?

Hire a basic Toyota Vigo Pickup from budget at a little under 900 THB a day including everything and be done with it.Better still take to and from the airport on arrival and departure and save a fortune in rip off taxi fares. Get total peace of mind and enjoy your holiday!

900 THB is seven plus day rate.

At that price it will most likely be very very old and i have no doubt a real experience to drive...that is unless that rate is being quoted for a minimum of a months rental. Everthing else you have mentioned is standard so to be fair this company is not offering anything extra as such. But if you are saying they rent a jeep for 450 baht per day, i sure as hel_l would'nt want to drive it.
