Did Mbk Burn Down? Daft Rumour I'M Sure

Featured Replies

Hate to propagate this kind of rumour, but someone here in South Africa assured me that MBK burned down in the last 2 months. Can't find anything on Google - except burning of central plaza (correct?) during riots.Just looking to hear from someone who's been there in the last 2 weeks :)PS: Gonna be there mid October. If the red shirts are protesting again, will it impact MBK shopping? ie did it impact last time? Hate to sound selfish, but in truth we have our own political issues to worry about here in SA :S)

MBK is not burned down, only Central Word and Partial Center one is down.

MBK is safe and fine.. still with lot of shopper :)

you are safe to come.. no red shirts

Nothing wrong with the Red shirts, it's the Yellow shirts you have to be worried about.

MBK is fine, as has been said.

As for would red shirt protests shut it down - who knows. They did shut it down last time, but that was because they decided to use that area to stage their protest, not because they had a particular beef with MBK. Central World I think was targeted because it's a business interest of one of the enemies of the reds, Google it if you're interested.

As it is a rumor an MBK is still there, closing this topic. Also moving it from the Apple Forum.
