I only ate there once but they gave me Fajattis with ground beef which is a sin for a for someone who lived in Mexico and Texas. I assume it was a one off  so problem no problem.

Two weeks ago we - 3 persons - went to Hungry Wolf’s in CR for dinner. The food wasn’t bad, but what I found unacceptable was the meal of person two arriving 10 minutes after person one got served, and it took another 20 minutes for person three to get food - exactly the same order as for person two - on the table. We went to a restaurant to have dinner together..............

Today we visited เฮือนฮักเก่า&กาแฟสด (Old Huan & Fresh Coffee) in Wiang Chiang Rung.  They call themselves "Cafe" but they are also a restaurant. 

We been there before So I knew what to order, Honey-toast with bananas and ice-cream  together with Coffee Americano. My wife had some Fried Rice Moo. 

Great service and yes, it was delicious and we were very happy. Total bill was 179 baht ! ! !

Lunch at Bite Club near the new Clock tower today, 360B for a burger, fish and chips and an orange juice.

The waitress told us it's owned by the same people as Ribs and Co but I think Bite Club has the better cook.

On our little ride today we visited Choo Mung for lunch.  It is quite a big place, far from Chiang Rai City but very popular among Thai people. 

They say it is quite crowded in the weekends but even today it was many customers there.  It is a very nice place, many different buildings/places to sit, small ponds etc. 

My wife had Pad Thai with Schrimps plus a bottle of water and I had Fried Rice with Pineapple plus a small Chang. 

Everything was delicious and the bill was just under 350 baht.

Today me and lovely wife were out having dinner at Two Lung.  We were there six months ago and we loved the place. Very good food and service and the chef "Nui" is a very nice guy.  He has been working in restaurants in Sweden for 20 years and in restaurants in Chiang Mai and Chiang Rai for 20 years.  He is making his own bacon, sausages, sauces and preparing all meat himself for both the restaurant here in Chiang Rai and the one his son is running in Chiang Mai.

 

I had Fisherman's Friend, Salmon with Mushroom sauce mashed potatoes with Cheese, and it was just perfect.

 

Two Lung is open Wednesday - Friday 17.00 - 22.00 and Saturday - Sunday 11.30 - 22.00.

Two Lung is definitely worth a trip, we were early for lunch today and there were a few reserved signs on the tables so may be an idea to book ahead for weekends.

Evenings only on weekdays.

I went buy a couple of weeks ago and they were open but I decided to stop in at Heaven Burger instead.

Me and my wife have been to Santiburi Golfclub two days to watch Singha Masters. And both days we had very good lunches there.  The food is very good and portions are not small. Both days we shared a Banana Split after.  

Two dishes, Banana Split and water was around 370 baht each time. 

Well worth visiting even if you don't play golf. Nice view from the restaurant and very good service.

Those of you who patronised the old Doi Chang coffee shop opposite the church may be interested that the former barrista, the guy with the beard, told a friend he was opening a cafe on Jed Yod.

I have just finished my first trip ever to Chiang Rai - I loved the place. Was lucky enough to go to Chef Sasa for pizza - wow it was fantastic. I honestly think it's one of the best I have ever had.

My wife and I go to Chef Sasa quite often.  I usually get the pizza because I think it’s the best around here.  I’ve also had the gnocchi and lasagna which are also good.  My wife usually orders the seafood spaghetti but only gets it with shrimp.  I’m sure glad this survived through the shut down.

Me and wife was there a couple of days ago.  When we ordered I told the owner I was very hungry and as you see I got an extra big portion of Mexican Tacos. 

 

It tasted very good and my wife was also happy with her food. 

 

Good food, good service and very nice people!

I didn't want you guys getting yourselves too excited at your age.

What's good for me is not necessarily good for the elderly.

We visited Madam Hill Coffee today. Must be one of the best views in Chiang Rai up there.

And the coffee and cakes were very good, good service and very nice owners.

We went up to YaYo Farm/ Doi Chaang, has to one of the best views in the province up there as well.

Yes that really pisses me off, no return is the tip.

Kurt's Chiang Rai Deli is now only open three days a week, Monday, Thursday and Friday, he's no longer opening Tuesdays.

Le Meridian offered a Christmas brunch this year at 888B+tax+service  which turned out to worth the outlay.

I've not been to a brunch there for about three years due to ill health and inconvenient timing but once again it did not disappoint.

 

Six courses could have been constructed from the buffet.... soup, seafood, antipasto, mains (turkey, roast ham and roast beef), desert and cheese.

All were first class, the meat cooked to perfection.

 

A small combo played background music.

Santa turned up and presented me with a box of chocs, a reward for having been a good boy all year.

 

Service was excellent, seating was available inside and out, the weather perfect and all in all it was a good Christmas lunch experience.

 

 

Oh wow, I wish I would have known! I was actually by myself on Christmas and it would have been great to go.

 

I LOVE their specials and B888 is a great price for what they put out!!

I only booked a few days before, when I decided to eat out I just googled some of the major venues to see what they were doing.

A friend went to Chivet Thamma Da which would have been of a similar standard and price range.

I looked on the Le Meredien site on the 24th and there was no offer that I could see. 

 

Maybe partially just the way I looked, but chances are they could have announced it better.
