I just moved to BKK 2 weeks ago and don't know many people here. The people I do know aren't football fans (English Premier Leaugue football/soccer). I'm looking for other football fans to go watch the games with or at least tell me where are the best bars in town to see the games. Arsenal fans would be perfect but fans of other clubs would also be great.

Thanks

Chris

welcome fellow gooner!

most bars in bangkok especially around the sukumvit area have an element of gunners fans in them. the only problem is that there also seems to be a few of the other lot in them aswell.

ie rose colored tinted glass wearing spurs fansbah.gif whingeing mancs whistling.gif moaning scousers huh.gif and a load of upstart chelseasick.gif. plus the odd one or two soon to be championship side supporting hammersshock1.gifwink.giflaugh.gif.

but once you get to know some of them apart from their poor taste in clubs they choose to follow, they aint a bad lot.

you might want to try out the robin hood around suk 33/35, the londoner on suk 33, the penalty spot a bit further down towards asoke, gullivers on suk 5 and the crossbar just off asoke around the back of soi cowbo. thats just a few for starters!

anyway might see you around one of these days chris78. good to have another goooner on the forum, might balance things up a bit, but be sure to be ready to take some flack.

There are a number of the guys from teh Football Forum that go and watch games at The Crossbar - all support different teams - and the set up allows a number of games to be showed.

Yeah he'll spot the Arse fans easy enough......huddled together in the corner tiggerfish miggy and hazri nursing a large bottle of Chang and discussing how well Billy Gallas is playing.....Oops!

EDIT: Don't forget to add a few pearls of wisdom on the Arse thread......ahh the sound of silence....just like your stadium.....usually on page 9 or 10 of the footy forum. :D

Where is the Crossbar?

Its at the top of the goal mate, that thing almule waves at when the ball goes wizzing by into the back of the net.

There is another one however near soi 23 (don't get distracted by cowboy) turn left at the first intersection, heneiken sign outside with a toad passed put on the sidewalk.

I am an Arsenal fan.

You'd also be great in an AA Meeting by the looks of your Post....:D

Now we know why it's so quiet at the Emirates, when you have 50,000+ ianwuk's at the game :D

Reminds a bit of the Daleks, you know "I am a Dalek, I am a Dalek,I am a Dalek"

well im back after a fortnight over the boarder in cambodia.

only thing that made me come back was the a distinct fowl smell floating around in one of the poi -pet casinos. fekking awful it was too!

so i decided to do a bit of investigating and after a few minutes of following my nose i found out where it was coming from.

2 ugly over weight beer belly <deleted> wearing spurs and man u. shirtsbah.gif(both about 3 sizes too small, i might add) what an awful sight! no wonder they call the place, the armpit of the world. laugh.gif

which reminds me!
