Movies I Want To See

Been working hard getting our place in shape. So I made my wife watch Bridge Over the River Kwai to show her that nonstop labor in the Thai summer is an inhumane practice!

Still a great movie. Found it on YouTube.

Just started watching Blood Father when the maid turned up so have it on pause.
Amazing opening scene where a young girl buys 45 caliber ammunition over the counter but is refused cigarettes when she cannot produce ID.
Supposedly Mel Gibson's best for a while.

Mel Gibson was entertaining and I found it interesting to see how he has aged.  Jason Bourne has gotten old too and I somehow don’t think there will be another sequel.  I enjoyed the acting in Genius and think I will watch CA Civil War today.

One's I've enjoyed:

1) The Lives of Others (East Germany in 1984, with Stasi in place) ... subtitled but worth the effort).

2) Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy (Classic Spy movie based on Le Carre book).

3) Bladerunner (Classic sci fi with a youthful Harrison Ford).

I'll watch out for the first one, I need subs anyway so no problem there.

Just read a review of NZ movie Hunt for the Wilderpeople, released next month.

A national manhunt is ordered for a rebellious kid and his foster uncle who go missing in the wild New Zealand bush.

Director: Taika Waititi
Writers: Taika Waititi (screenplay), Barry Crump (based on the book by)
Stars: Sam Neill, Julian Dennison, Rima Te Wiata |

Sam Neill is always a good bet.

Released next month.

This one is now available.

Watched it today and found to be really enjoyable.

Now showing at Central and looking forward to watching them:

1. Inferno (Tom Hanks) 3rd in the series from the Da Vinci Code & Angels and Demons

2. Jack Reacher (Tom Cruise)

I was hoping that Arrival would be released in Thailand at the same time as the US & Australia, but not until December supposedly

Anyone who has read the Jack Reacher books by Lee Child will have a great deal of difficulty seeing Tom Cruise in the role.
There's about half a meter height difference to start with.

I was showing my wife the trailer on YouTube and low and behold the next clip was the actual movie that some bozo had uploaded. I'm sure its gone now, but at the end of the day it was mediocre.
