Years ago I bought pipe tobacco at the pharmacy near the start of Sukhumvit soi 4. I would appreciate it if someone could let me know if they (or anywhere else) has Captain Black Gold tobacco and how much it is.

I usually bring 4 kilos with me but last time customs was cracking down and I ended up wasting 45 minutes at the airport before we arrived at a "tax agreement" with the excise department. 11PM after a 20 hour flight is not a time I want to be messing around with these hassles so if I can get what I need at a reasonable price I would rather skip the legal hassles. On the other hand, I hate the crap available near the village so I will take my chances at the airport rather than smoke something that has me spitting every 10 seconds.

Am I to believe that no one is actually in Bangkok, and those that are don't ever stop by NEP on occasion? Surely some kind soul can make the 100 foot detour to the pharmacy near soi 4. You know the one, walking from NEP take a left on sukhumvit and it is just past the gas station.

LOL, I have to agree with your opinion of NEP but my point was that there are plenty of guys walking very close to the store that I am asking about. It has been nearly ten years since I last bought tobacco there so I don't remember which pharmacy, or even that there are two. The one I remember was a double or triple store front with two entrances. The sales counter is along the right wall as you walk in. The tobacco was in a glass display case inside the shop between the two entrances. Obviously the setup might have changed in ten years but it is probably the same.

If you are on about the pharmecy next to soi 4 gas station that fronts the main suk road , the place was still open last year and I did stop there once and noticed they sold rolling tobabco .. But can't remember brand or wether they sell now

Paragon, Emporium, Foodland, Villa Market. They all have liquor stores that stock pipe tobacco, including Captain Black.

A pouch should cost around 250 baht.
