Need To Get My Medication Tested For Authenticity?

hello,

im worried my tablets are not genuine and need to find a hopsital or chemist or pharmacy that will test them for me as they cost alot and may be genuine but also may be not, so i dont want to waste the money and throw them away,

but id rather have them tested so i know exactley what is in them?

any help would be great please

Read the monograph. This is the paper insert that came with the meds. If the monograph has spelling errors or looks like a bad copy, then chances are it is bogus. Another way to verify is to look at the box. There will be a bar code or lot identification or other series of identification numbers imprinted onto the box. You can email the drug company with that information and the date and location of where you purchased the drug. The drug manufactuterer can use those numbers to determine the date of manufacture, the distribution channel and the market where sold. For example, with Viagra the leading counterfeit drug, Pfizer can pinpoint its distribution warehouse source. All drugs are supposed to be traceable along the distribution route. If I go into some pharmacy and walk out with "viagra", chances are that if it was not shipped from a designated wholesaler/distributor or from the Pfizer logistics center, then Pfizer will know.

If the drugs were dispensed without a monograph, then they should have been dispensed by a reputable pharmacist, i.e. a hospital or a chain with compliance procedures like Boots. If not, there is a greater likelihood of something bogus. I do not trust local pharmacies to dispense drugs that are not in the manufacturers's packages unless the pharmacist is associated with a hospital or major chain.

You should have them checked thoroughly. Perhaps even contact your doctor back at home for advice where to test them.

They are able to copy everything (box, bar codes,..) and are even fooling experts. Hence the EU is being flooded right now with fake medecin from (mostly) China and India. Most of the fake medication goes to Africa.

At a minimum your talking gas chromatography analysis....you any idea how much this would cost ? Serious money. You could try a commercial lab or School of Pharmacy at Chula or similar.
