Tony'S New "Sports World" Gym Has Opened

Recommended Posts

I think it opened a few days ago. I spotted 4 people in there when I rode past this evening at 7pm.

If I do start there it won't be going there to train until my current membership at the Soi 16 gym expires, but I thought I should break the big news and look for feedback from people who have actually gone there to train.

I did notice he didn't have any mirrors at the 2 squat racks I saw through the window. He better get that sorted out quickly as that's a huge oversight.

Does he keep the airconditioning on at night? Does he supply drinking water? What are his opening hours? How much for a membership?

Look for answers here soon.....

Can we look here for maybe where it's located as well...such basic information might just be useful for anyone trying to find the place!

As to the mirrors...yeah...those meatheads are pretty narcissistic bunch...worse than bargirls.

The ignorant comments have aleady begun. Mirrors in front of squat racks are essential to help keep tight form and balance as well as feedback on depth.

Location: Opposite the old Tony's gym on 3rd Road.

I have heard that water will not be available and the airconditioning will remain off between the hours of 9pm and 9am.

Still not very helpful as to location as there are a couple Tony's on 3rd Road. Have not seen anything near the old torn down gym near exzite so I guess you mean near South Road.

Is there off road parking like the torn down gym?

As to the mirrors lighten up, ever heard of a joke? But those roidheads do do love looking st themselves in mirrors like BGs.

They have good reason to look at themselves, they made something out of their body. Unlike most fat expats i would not want to look in the mirror then too.

Cool, I know a few people have been waiting for this place to open.

I have been using the open-air place on Soi Bukhao over the last couple of months. I will stroll-up to this new location in a day or two. Hope its is not too much more than 69 THB a visit.

You're still showing your ignorance. Everyone who trains in a gym looks in the mirrors. Every good gym has mirrors. They are a necessary part of training. If you've ever been to a gym and done a half decent session you'd know this. It has absolutely nothing to do with enjoyment.

There's only 2 Tony's gyms on 3rd Road. The old one and the new one, both opposite each other between Pattaya Tai and Soi 17.

Yeah yeah whatever, I've been working out with free-weights since high-school (um...so that's like 30 years of using them) so I am aware mirrors are necessary to get the ROM correct for most exercises.

Sheeze...what's it take to get a joke into a T-V post these days...I guess it's just a grumpy Monday morning for some folks.

^ Don't sweat it FB, maybe you caught this humorless pair before they took their HGH shots.

I never knew that humor had a direct relation to HGH. Thanks for teaching me this.

Also i never used HGH but was thinking of it as it is said to help a lot to get lean. But now that i know it will also help me in the humor department im sure to start using it.

Thanks DR NanLaew

Goodness me rob, your gonna need gallons of the stuff!

Too bad i cant afford gallons of the stuff, so ill stay without humor for the rest of my life :crying:

The "roidheads", "meatheads" etc comments have been done to death on gym threads and are never used in jest (until now apparently).

You come across as an insecure person who gets intimidated training next to muscular men. I'm sorry, but that's the way your "jokes" come across in here.

You could try the joke forum so people actually know you're joking.

It definitely does help stripping bodyfat, but it's a very expensive way to do it and has some pretty bad side-effects if doses are too high.

^ Hey fellas, does the new gym have a boxing ring? :D

No boxing ring and after a quick inspection last month I didn't see a bag either. I hope they haven't installed one since. :D

That remind's me of a mate I was with once "he's tall and skinny not one ounce of anything, we were sitting in a bar when a mussel man "correct spelling" spoke to him, and said go to the gym the bird's will love you. With that he took out a 500bt note slapped it on the Table and said that's what the girl's LOVE. Just remember in Pattaya it's money that count's. Not size and the only one impressed with what you look like is you.

Not true at all. Thais are impressed with muscle. Of course you wouldn't know that if you're skinny, fat or otherwise out of shape.

Yes it is and that is why im not using it. But in general for stripping body fat they use 2IU a day for 3 months before result is seen. That is a lot of money for just stripping fat. It would mean around 5000 baht per month. I can afford it but just find it a bit too much.

I heard steroid abuse makes people angry and aggressive. Is there any truth in this?

What do serious gym users think of the steroid freaks in Pattaya? Is there a gym snobbery relating to people who do use steroids to bulk up and those who don't, preferring to work out in the gym?

Perhaps you could do some research and start a thread on this topic. I'll be quite happy to offer you my opinion there.

It goes something like this if your an asshol_e and you use steriods you will be an even bigger asshol_e on steriods. If your a normal guy on steriods.. you will be normal still.

You cant see if someone does steriods or not (can have suspicions by certain signs) but even a guy who uses the stuff needs to work hard. You don't grow your muscles magically.

Nonsense! You were part of the gay lot with a small pecker checking out the other guys in the change room. I suspect you were banned from where you worked out.

Anyway, enough of this. Take your homophobic nonsense somewhere else. Normal gym members don't concern themselves with the sexual preferences or dick size of fellow members.

the new gym doesn't have water, same as soi 16 where they recently removed the water tanks. that's a new low for sure, i've never seen a gym without at least a water fountain. as far as the air cons, i was in the other night after 9 and i turned the one on next to the squat rack, you can just switch them on. since the ceilings are so high tho it's still very hot in there unless you just stand in front of the air con between sets. also, there's only 1 squat rack, the other rack is the seated press rack with the non adjustable safety bars.

so my conclusion is it's a net loss from the old 3rd road gym near excite. there were 2 squat racks and a power rack there, better air con, and free water. here there is only 1 squat rack, crap air, and no water. i can't wait to see what my lifetime membership gets me in 5 more years...

I been cought out. Curse's. All my post's were put in in jest. But if you think that by working out it give's anybody "Robblok" the right to slag off other peep's your living under some misapprehension If you cant take it dont give it. Im Just standing up for the fat man, which Im not.

I have no idea but because you notice it, and go looking for it you must be one of the 60%. I do most of my workouts at home, got a small gym in one of my rooms. I only go to Cali Wow when i need some social contacts or meet someone for a training session.

I went to Tony's gym in Soi Bukhao last night and he has added some new memberships for this location.

They are available for a number of time periods: 1 week, 2 weeks, 1 and 3 months etc and the prices seem good. For example, 1 month is 1290 THB. This seems a good deal to me for regular users and I've signed-up for one of these rather than de-camp to the newer location on 3rd.

On a side note, I have met and talked to a few users at the SB gym and get on with all of the visitors I have spoken to. I fail to see why the digs and niggles creep into these gym-related threads.
