Try www.hostelworld.com for anything from very budget to hotel standard. They're good I've used them before.

Also www.precisionreservations.com list just about every hotel in BKK

Royal Hotel on Rachadamnoen Rd near Grand Palace is an old favourite. Should be able to get a room for about 1200Bt but they don't list on many internet sites.

Premier Inn

Sukhumvit Soi 20, a bit basic but a good location. The staff are a bit thick with barely adequate English.

They usually have rooms available, expect to pay around 800 Baht.

Honey Hotel

Sukhumvit Soi 19, a bit "long in the tooth" but half reasonable if all you want is somewhere to sleep.

Beware of the rooms in the car park, I can't explain, you will have to see for yourself.

The price is a bit variable depending on occupancy, expect to pay under 1000 Baht, certainly not over - unless you are desperate

Business Inn

Sukhumvit Soi 11/1, cheap and cheerful with clean rooms from 600 Baht per night. Good travel agent in the lobby and rooms on both sides of the street. Good value and a great location, just by Nana BTS Skytrain

Majestic Suites will fit the bill.

gone up to 1200 baht per night mate.

I also stayed at their new hotel on soi 2? or 6? at the last Bangkok meetup - I forget the name, but it was a lovely hotel and I paid about 3k per night.

Nana Condo is ok location, soi 4, about 200 meters away from "Jools" restaurant on the same side heading away from suk. 600 baht per night.

The Dynasty - location = great for fun nights. If you ask for the hotel room with the big balcony (room 61?), you get a whole floor to yourself and the balcoony is as big as tennis court. 900 - 1200 per night.

The Rembrandt is ok, but pricey for what you get.

My favourite is The Grand Diamond (next to Pantip). A suite will cost you about 3.5k per night, but well worth it in my opinion.

Believe it on not there are a lot of advantages of staying in the "car park"rooms

1.Cheapest Rooms

2.Lots of water pressure.

3.Rooms are actually pretty quiet and cool.

4.Easy to stagger to the koffee Chorp in the morning for your first Big Sing.

5.No stairs to Climb.

6.Security guards just outside looking after the cars --talk to them...they are OK.

7.No need to go through reception. :D:o

8.When you get a Tuk Tuk from Cowboy or wherever its straight to your door.

9.Swimming Pool on same ground floor level so change in room.

and finally...

Should the place ever go on fire you can nip out of the window, jump over the wall and you are GONE.... :D

Wot more do you need.... :D
