Nouveau riche (French for "new rich"), or new money, refers to a person who has acquired considerable wealth within his or her generation.[1] This term is generally to emphasize that the individual was previously part of a lower socioeconomic rank, and that such wealth has provided the means for the acquisition of goods or luxuries that were previously unobtainable. The term can also be used in a derogatory fashion, for the purposes of social class distinction, to describe persons with newfound wealth as vulgar—lacking the experience or finesse to use wealth in the same manner as old money—persons from families who have been wealthy for multiple generations.

The loser is a hand gesture made by extending the thumb and index fingers, leaving the other fingers closed to create the letter L, interpreted as "loser", and generally given as a demeaning sign.[1] Sometimes this is accompanied by raising the hand to the giver's forehead,[2] and sometimes it is done as you rest your head in your hands.

When you posted the above.........did you hear a loud whooshing noise above you?

Too many people these days don't risk, they refuse to accept the risks of living. Risk avoidance seems to be the motto all over the world.

I do what I feel like.

Really? Is that really how you feel and think? If you have a young family, are you really prepared to do what you feel like? And what if it puts your child in a dangerous situation?

If you do as you feel and it causes a car crash leaving you a cripple incapable of supporting your family who do you expect will take care of them? If you feel you have nothing to lose, ok, that's cool, but is it fair to your dependants? No kid should be without a father.

Some of us avoid unnecessary risk because we have a lot to live for. We also have to stick around because we have some family obligations. Had one of my parents been killed when I was a kid. I'd not be where I am today. Had I not been wearing a helmet when a tard ran me down, my brain would have splattered on the pavement and I'd be drooling from a wheelchair. So yea, I have no problem with risk avoidance. I am willing to bet my virginity that you take far fewer risks now than you did 20 years ago.

Maybe you're right, and it is just my age.

This is worth blinging up!!!

Very nice muscle car, needs no modding it is perfect as it is..

Left hand drive in a right hand drive country ??

1st mod would be a conversion of that factor.

Why???

Quite unneccesary IMO...many left hand drive cars in RHD countries and visa-versa are permitted to drive without costly conversion.

Anyone with a half decent driving ability can drive such vehicals without problem. :whistling:

And as kenny said...perfect as it is..dont need to touch it at all.

I spent years back and forth between uk and mainland europe.. Often with sportscars (euro) in the uk.. It was a pain in the ass and worse the faster the car.

Having a half decent driving ability doesnt negate the fact your on the wrong side of the road to see if its clear to overtake.. So you have to either lay back a LONG way or stick half the car over into the oncoming lane to see if its clear to pass..

Other than overtaking its not much of an issue, but fast car is exactly when it is a pain.

Done the same myself, but in reality most fast roads for fast cars are now multilane and hence for a majority of overtaking no worries about oncoming traffic.

That and the fact that i mostly have a passenger in theopposite side easily negates most other overtaking issues.

Still comes down to the NO> 1 priority on the highways...Drive to suit the conditions..this is all encompassing, from weather to overtaking options

Parking is a breeze also..yes? :)

seconded

driving LHD in Rightside countries is doable, but slowly and carefully

major disadvantage to sit on the wrong side, even on large multilane highways

I have been looking into bringing a full size pickup here like Dodge Ram 8,0 or Cadillac Escalade, they are all made in US or Canada, but the conversion to RHD costs a fortune.

You guys are funny.

RHD or LHD doesn't matter when you want to uturn or bypass someone.

There's always 50 motorbikes that are going to block your view and put themselves in the middle of the right lane waiting for cars to stop swirling around them :jap: :jap:

Car importation, something I would love to try, but every thing I read just screams DONT..

Fake snake 427 cobra would so appeal for a toy. Million baht from the US would be a nice one in a container at the border, how many millions to get it that next km is the issue.

I saw a dark coloured 1 ton Chevy dualie in Kata a week or two ago. That must have cost some serious cash to get legal ( it was on red plates).

RHD or LHD?

Didn't notice as I was admiring the size of the vehicle as it passed by with those big rear flared fenders.

Then theres the sad sorry tale of the ones you had to leave behind.. I still think of her :crying:

CSI version which the M Sport division breathed life into.. Only about a 1000 made worldwide.. 6 speed.. v12 5.6 (same basic plant as in the maclaren F1) almost 400 bhp.. And so smooth, more grand tourer than track day star.. But shes was a good un..

Left her in storage rather than sell her, simply cos I didnt want to part with such a rare gem, then when I finally realized long distance relationships like this could never work, let her go for a song.

Sigh..

As if driving in Phuket isn't a nightmare as it is....then people start bringing in LHD cars!!!! Totally insane in a country where there are no driving rules except every man for himself. Hope he carries a box of kleenex for his passengers cos they're the ones thats gonna be staring down on coming traffic when the driver has to put 3 quarters of the car into the opposite lane for over taking.

@ LiL sweet car there mate, always the classic grand tourer but the V12 ouch for fuel bills !!! :o

Beautiful. I feel your loss. I think most of us left loved ones behind. It's a wrench (pardon the pun).

Ha yeah.. It had a violent pull to the right when passing petrol stations !! Could get nearly 5k baht in a tank (and it used em fast too) back in 2000 petrol prices.

That wasnt all either, getting insurance on it... Age 25.. was erm.. challenging..

Most of my money was made on providing US vehicles to Europe, by finding the loopholes in taxes and spec. Retired from this business when I moved here almost 8 years ago. Have had some spare time lately, injured myself crashing my bike, and been reading up on LOS duties and excice, and may have found an inexpensive way to get these full size pickups legally on the road here. RHD conversions are presently done in OZ, but at a price, mainly handmade parts i guess.

Would love to speak with owner or get the VIN for the Chevy dually spotted in Kata by Steelpulse

Seen a couple of Hummers here with red plates.

The ultimate redneck Ooo-whee-look-at-me car.

Lots of Hummers here, H2 and H3, The H2 is not that expensive about 3.3 million brand new. the H2 was 6 million something

There a number of normal BMW SERIES 8 - 850i E31 running around north of Bangkok, have seen a couple For Sale both around 3 million 93 and a 95 year model
