tomparis Posted September 27, 2010 Posted September 27, 2010 Hi all, I am in the process of moving to bangkok and will have a private healthcare. My employer, which is french, has a provider included into a general health-pension agreement which is available in France. In Thailand the healthcare coverage would be via AXA. My concern would be how does the direct-biliing / direct settlement work as from what I understand only certain hospitals ahve prenegotiated agreements with providers. Concern would be having an accident, then being asked for a credit card when arriving in A&E. I'd prefer to arrive, the staff call a local number from my card and speak to someone in Thai 24/7 who also speaks english, then I get minimal paperwork and return home fixed! I've seen AXA (AXA PPP - not sure its the same) has cover in 6 or so hospitals in BKK, so would like to know: - is my description accurate? - is 6 hospitals enough to have good coverage? - any experiences of the AXA "card" acceptance in these or other hospitals? - any experiences of the paperwork following (good/bad companies for paperwork) in& out-patient - any specific recommendations (I am also looking at allianz) - I would have extensive travels around SE Asia. - is there a list of accepted hospitals per insurer anywhere? Thanks in advance for your help.
ThaivisaInsurance Posted September 28, 2010 Posted September 28, 2010 AXA PPP is a very good International medical insurer. However being 'International' we in Thailand cannot deal with PPP but, to answer your specific questions, why do you not ask them yourself direct - then you will get the correct answers ?
