I live in China. This stuff is normal here; it's obvious and I know it's there. In so many ways it makes my life easier. It also doesn't bother or affect me as I'm not breaking the law.
I'm British & I'm white, so I'm on the wrong side of the 2-tier justice system. The level of digital oversight and tracking is off the scale in the UK, and I have much less confidence in the UK Government and criminal justice system than I have where I live.
If they want every child a teens to attend school, the public education better be free.
Thai junior high became free after 1998, still quite a hidden cost to the parents, eg uniforms.
To the low income parents, it impacts a lot.
Young children. grow fast, and they all. outgrow their clothing.
And Thai school children need 3-4 kinds of clothing; standard, ethnic costume, boyscout, and gymnasium.
Perhaps the USA should just sit this one out and let the Asians solve their own problems.
If I was Thailand, I may cast greedy eyes on all that waterfront property where the borders as drawn don't really make any sense.
