I guess I added up the "leanings" to get my total of more right than left....

Yeah...but clear cut 'left' verses 'right' has the 'left' outnumbering the 'right' by two to one!!!!! The bulk of the people reporting to right of center are 'leaning' , does this mean that most people on the 'right' are ashamed to admit it?

Also, usually a majority of those declaring they have no political opinoins would declare themselves on the left if they were forced to pick...at least I think that this is true but maybe I'm wrong on this. If this is true then its probably pretty much of a tie between the left and right......seems like this is the same as politics in general everywhere...not just in Thailand...what do you think?

Maybe so. As usual, it's all how you look at the data....

"The penalty good men pay for indifference to public affairs is to be ruled by evil men”  -- Plato

...and so it was that Plato predicted the fate of the United States at around the turn of the second millenium after somebody decided to nail a geezer up onto a wooden cross just because he suggested people ought to be a bit more civil to each other. :o

You want to run that by us one more time, Meadish?

Sure you're not confusing Plato with Nostadomos? :D

BTW - sorta anticipated Stroll would 'bite' on this one! :D

No, I have run by enough times today, I need to relax with some work. I am definitely not confusing Nostradamus with Plato. Plato was Greek with a certain fondness for young boys, and Nostradamus (born on December 14, 1503, in St. Remy de Provence, Southern France) was a bearded bloke with a fondness for prophecies.

I just think Plato's quote is very, very fitting for the US at present, considering how many percent bother to go voting.

Well, don't know about anyone else reading this thread but I'm not quite with you w/respect to Plato predicting and some 'geezer' nailed to a cross? :D

So that was the confusing part - ok, I thought it was obvious I was referring to J H Christ. :o

Two millennia (and a bit more) after he said people should be more nice to each other and was rewarded with people nailing him to a cross, we find ourselves... now. 2005. With GWB in power.

OK - see your point. :D

Problem is, Mead, we really do need to keep our words to five letters or less, and no more than two syllables. Beyond this limit & we are simply talking/writing for ourselves.....

Where Do You Stand?

Behind the bar.

edit: Or... when not working, I sit on the other side....

P1P, the post without the edit is only three words.

This may sound really cheesy, but......

Here in America where we only have two parties, I have always felt, left wing, right wing, a bird needs both to fly. For anyone to believe that one party has all the answers is just setting themselves up for a world of pain.

Amen!!! This is probably the most profound thing posted so far in this topic...except of course the things that I posted.

Don't worry Chownah, that's the last time I'll upstage ya! Cheers! :o
