I have been asked to see if there is any chance of getting a helicopter for a few days ?It is needed to fly from Samui to the mainland. 2 maybe 3 days. Any ideas people ? Money is no object. Cheers

none yet but there may be a robinson in our future.

We looked at this two or three years ago for a client. Could find nothing local. Bangkok at the time was the nearest and you have to pay for the repositioniing of the helicopter as well. They are not cheap.

If you find a local helicopter, I would have some doubts about the safety/maintenance of the chopper

You are right a helicopter just departed it's on the way to Uthapao. It's used for crew changing oil workers to the rig.

If you want to see a rig there's one being towed past to the east of Samui present position Lat N 09deg 47.2 Long E 100deg 49.8 should be about 30 to 40 nm away.

I would be happy, if they really leave 5.000.000 baht for 10 days diving......

Include 5 star accommodation, helicopter charter, luxury speedboat charter, car and driver and the technical diving course and blended gases and you are hitting the 5 million mark. Also just signed them up for a 3 week live aboard for next year sailing from Phuket around to Samui diving some very nice wrecks and I get to go as well.
