Recommendation For Service Apartment

Featured Replies

I will be in Phuket next week. Recommedation for 1 bedroom service apartment for ONE week in Phuket Town. Budget 10,000baht. Is this possible? Thanks

Yes, absolutely possible! Try Baan Suwantawe. Very nice, clean, new building. Central location in town. Decent size saltwater pool and nice staff. Been staying there for a few months recently, after moving down here for my new job. Was very happy there. They have 3 different room types but should be well within you budget. Call for the actual current rates. Usually you can get better than what's posted on the site. Have a nice stay!

Any opinion for THE POINT condo? Understan it's near a few shopping centres and supermarkets? Thanks

I can't see anyone owning a condo going through the hassle of a 1 week rental in a new building for 10K such as THE POINT.

There are availiable service apartments for daily, short term and long term rental direct from The Point developer. In fact some private owners are willing for holiday rental if price is good.

So what's the rate at the point for what you are looking for from the developer? I can see maybe the developer wanting to rent out to recoup something from not being able to sell, but if I owned a condo there I would be looking for long term renters, not hassling with one week rentals or even one month rentals.

Is 10K a week considered good? I have no idea so I'm curious as to what you've come across.

Daily rate for studio apartment at present is 1200baht. One month for 1 bedroom apartment is 25,000baht. Both quotes are from developer. I am waiting for their confirmation for 1 week.

Besides as you say likely developer try to generate any returns on theie unsold units.

I lived at The Point for 10 months. I had a bad experience with this place.Initially I rented a one bedroom apartment direct from the developer. Went to see the actual unit, agreed price at 25,000baht per month signed agreement paid one month advance and deposit. To my horror when I move in one week later the agreed unit was not availiable and they gave me a unit right at the front facing By Pass Road. Very noisy and dusty. Next morning shifted to 2 bedroom apartment at 33,000baht per month as they claimed there is no one bedroom availiable. Supposed to be service apartment but they change bed linen once a week, clean twice a week and I had to purchase my own toilet paper. Water is cheap, electric was expensive and internet is 600baht a month.

After 3 months found a private owner of one bedroom apartment at 18,000baht per month. Stayed 6 months just moved out last friday.

This condo is convienient as it's near Central,Tesco and opposite Big C. But very noisy and the traffic is terrible in the evening. But the security is good and have a small restaurant-reasonable price- which do room service.
