New Years Eve

Featured Replies

Hello all

I moved to Bangkok only about 6 weeks ago so I'm looking for some recommendations for the big night... some friends have just confirmed that they will be visiting and I'd like to make it a good one for them. I've been searching online but I can't find any good information.

I'm open to any suggestions at this stage, be it club, big fireworks event or whatever really, but I need some local knowledge...

Cheers!

To be honest you'll probably get away without making a reservation at most restaurants in Bangkok. Also tourist numbers are probably going to be way down on previous years so there shouldn't be too much of a problem on New Year's Eve - although you will inevitably have to pay more than usual - but not excessively more than a normal night.

Check the entertainment sections of the English language dailies if you can for tips on where to go.

Also if you're prepared to pay the special NYE prices then booking at most places won't be necessary.
