I am not convinced there ever are any fireballs. It's a SCAM

Reports in the Thai press said 12 fireballs were seen in Pon Phisai on Saturday night. I was there - plenty of attractive girls -plenty of Irish whiskey, but alas no fireballs!

My wife saw 10 fire balls and she has never seen them in her 30 years. She did say the drive back to Nong Khai was a royal SOB with 6 lanes of traffic on the two lane road!

So that's where the other half bottle of Irish whiskey went!

It was indeed one way traffic all the way back to Nong Khai (approx 40km). I'm glad I didn't want to come in the opposite direction!

I've personally seen 19 fireballs on my 2004 visit to the Mehkhong (about 45 km from Nong Khai City). Sober. too. Yes, they do exist, and the explanations are equally fascinating.
