well, from what i hear, it's illegal for foreigners to carry pepper spray around. however, since you dont mention your nationality, and since it is openly available i assume that i am not doing anything wrong by saying that it can be purchased at the pharmacy at foodland ramkamhaeng.

My 2 satangs worth! For what its worth it is far cheaper and safer to simply avoid places where you think you may need to carry a can of mace in the first place

OP why do you need it?

Have you come across any unsavory characters?

I stay in the Ramkhamhaeng area while I am in Bangkok.

Is there anything I should know?

And can anyone clarify if pepper spray or mace can not be carried by a foreigner (but can by a Thai)?

And what is the fine is you are caught?

Thanks for the replies that had good info, Ramkhamhaeng is very safe and friendly, or has been for me. The PS is for a young lady who lives on her own. So its for a Thai person fyi. And Nah Its all good and safe, Just treat bangkok like you do any other city, there are always crooks and thievs its every city/town big or small, so be smart.

BKK vs NYC? BKK wins for less violence imo, But maybe I havent been here long enough.. But the food for sure wins any other citys food.. Guoi tiao and insects are declicious. And everything else really. Havent had anything bad here, except maybe this weird fruit drink that was sweet/sour. Not a fan...

I love Thailand tho, so far. :) Land of smile's makes me smile.

Best wishes for everyone's thats been affected by the floods. Hope things clear up before more loss happen's.
