August 2, 200520 yr Oh, joy. There's a new reactionary party in Germany: "BERLIN, July 27 - You could almost say that a specter is haunting Germany, and while it is not the specter of communism, as Marx and Engels had it in their famous Manifesto, it is the specter of former Communists - along with a scattering of idealistic socialist reformers and a larger number of defectors from the governing Social Democratic Party of Chancellor Gerhard Schröder. All of those groups have come together to form a new party in Germany, the Linkspartei, or Left Party. While it is new and still small, it could have a major impact on the national elections set for Sept. 18." Sleep tight. Returning to Berlin soon...

Returning to Berlin soon... <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I went to the link and there isn't anything about a new reactionary party...its just about some Berlin politicians on the left who want to put up a statue of Lenin I guess but it also seems that its the tourist agencies or whatever that actually want it up since they say that the question most asked by tourist to Berlin is what was it like during the German communist era. Maybe its the wrong issue for this blog....is there another link? I just went out and looked at a link in the body of the text of the link above which took me to Reuters and there it said that some (I think) government tourist department wants to put the statue into a museum since it would be of interest to tourists and representative of the communist period.....nothing about any reactionary party....I'm starting to think this is a troll post...but maybe the OP can come up with the link that talks about the reactionary party and its relationship to the statue.
