Morning world!!

So, I need to go Koh Phangan to Kuala Lumper and I have 3days to do it in.. Too easy.

The travel agents in KPG are offering me a boat and bus combo either to Butterworth or KL but both arriving very early morning, not the best.

So, Im thinking,

14/11... Afternoon ferry to Surat Thani and on to train station.

Overnight train through to Butterworth, arrive early morning.

15/11... Train or bus Butterworth up to KL arrive early afternoon.

15/11... Book into hotel for night and get on the very very very expensive grog

16/11... Fly out afternoon.

Is there an overnight train to betterworth??

If so can I just turn up to SuratThani station and expect to get a ticket??

Any ideas what time the train leaves Surat Thani ??

Cheers.

Oh, and if theres any other ideas on how to do it, please feel free to share your knowledge.. cheers

There is an overnight train to butterworth from Surat Thani, I think you can even book the sleeper now. But you'd best book or you will be stuck in third class hard seats.

For me this has always worked out better:

Samui - Hat Yai bus; stay 1 night; Hat Yai - KL train. Leaves around 3pm. The only train to KL from Thailand but it does take a detour to Butterworth.

Take Firefly to KL(subang) from Koh Samui.

forget the trains have given up with them now. last 2 time i tried to take them. they have been up to 7 hrs late.

just fly form samui but i don't like to promote fire fly as i truelly hate them for ripping me off. that is another story.

long story short then ripped my of for 15 k and stucj it in there pockets.

ig u have a problem and u cannot fly. In malayasia they can refund or change the date on your ticket but if it happens in the samui end. they will force u to buy a new ticket and say they have a no refund policy which is strange as it is owned my malasyians.
