Several times already when parking the scooter near some motorbike taxis (public road), I have been asked by one of them for 20 baht "parking fee".

Every time so far I joked (jokingly asking for a receipt, jokingly asking to see their parking fee collector's ID, pretending to be too drunk to remember which motorbike is mine, saying I had only a 10,000 baht bill and therefore couldn't pay, etc.) and smiled my way out of the demand, we had a laugh and the guys kept smiling and nothing bad happened.

But I would like to ask if someone here already had a negative experience with such a situation?

I tell them to f off.. It is a public street and they aren't renting it...

And then come back to push your bike to a repair shop, if you can find one open at that hour.

Highly not recommended.
