After several severe accidents involving passenger liners lately, France today officially issued a list of five airlines banned from French territory for safety reasons. The five banned airlines were listed on France's Civil Aviation Authority (DGAC): North Korea's Air Koryo, USA's Air Saint-Thomas, Liberia's International Air Service, Air Mocambique (LAM) with its subsidiary Transairways, and Phuket Airlines from Thailand. The North Korean airline has been banned since 2001, whereas the others were not included until last year, except for Phuket Airlines who were included as late as in June this year. TT-AFP
