Well, I made it through Hurricane Katrina with winds of 175 mph and 60 foot seas - alive.

Not everyone did - New Orleans is a disaster zone... :o

Congrats Daleyboy!!!!!!

(I survived another night on the piss.... alive (just))

Great news all round n congrats Daleyboy!

Can't possibly top that but despite recent ups n downs in worklife my way of late, got a skip in my step thanks to a bit o' serendipity and an amazing lady, so it all evens out and then some. Anyone feelin blue out there, "Always look on the bright side of life" (try to despite the <deleted>) and good things can happen, no matter :o:D

Nice one Daleyboy!

Last Saturday was a crackin' session at the bar. Had 60 odd people jumping around like lunatics (including myself :o ) followed by a solid round of applause at the end. Something the bar owner said to somebody fairly influential in the BKK nightclub scene that night put a smile on my face for the whole of the next day.

Now if only my daytime job gave me that much satisfaction...

Yesterday, I went to my old workplace to pick up mail. Everyone was sincerely happy to see me which was nice. But it was the "office baby" that truly made my day. This 3 yr old angel lives on premises with her mum, the maid. I hadn't seen her for several months and we had been very close when I worked there.

Neither of us said a word as our eyes met across the room. She opened her little arms, I swept her up, and she clung to me like a long- last aunt. Bless her little heart... It was a beautiful moment! :o

Not off-topic boys, but y'all get the news re. the 30 ft tidal surge and devestation that New Orleans took when Katrina blew thru at 145 mph?

It's a disaster of cataclysmic proportions. National Guard is evacuating the entire city... :o

Thanks Boon Mee. Just been reading about it online. I have no TV. Horrifying!

More reason to hug those we love...

Many congrats on all points Daleyboy!! Good luck to you and your family and may the next 9 months bring you a healthy baby and mother!

For me, I just got back from a long weekend with my honey. Five months is a long time to be apart. Hopefully we won't have to go through that again. We are apart more than together, so we just enjoy the time we have.

I've got so many things to be happy for in my life, it's enough for me just to say that things are going good and I'm lucky, fortunate and grateful for it.

Life's too short to worry about what we don't have. Better to enjoy and be thankful for what we do have.

Nice upbeat thread!!

Thanks everyone for the congratulations :D

Yet another tradegy unfolding, with more lives lost :o What a waste of life. You are right Khall it is time to hug those we love while we spare a thought for those of us less fortunate that have been hit with this devastation. :D

Congratulations Daleyboy :o

Yes it's tragic what happened. We never know what tomorrow will bring so I always think it's important to show people close to you how much you care for them.

Good luck to you and yours and everyone else there.

That was a huge storm. On Monday, I flew cross country in the states right along the leading edge of Katrina. It was absolutely huge from 33,000 feet. It took more than an hour to fly from one side of the storm to the other. Incredible!
