Just wanted to check if Compulsory insurance for cars is as it states

I paid my insurance today and when I asked the to pay the additional Compulsory insurance for the car they seemed to indicate I didnt need to pay it

Anybody know for sure

Oh, you need to pay for it, because without it you can not get your registration/tax sticker for the windshield. You sure your insurance company wasn't really saying that the money you paid them was also buying the separate compulsory insurance (costs around 648 baht). Individual companies issue the compulsory insurance policies...I think the Land Transportation Office can issue them also. Most insurance companies will provide you with both the compulsory insurance and, if you desire, the separate 3rd, 2nd, and/or 1st Class policy...and usually the grand total you are paying the company is really for the two separate policies. Check you insurance documents...you should have two coverage sheets...one that is the compulsory insurance coverage sheet with bar code at the bottom which you will need to get your registration/tax sticker when due and one for the extra insurance policy you may have bought.

That is correct.

Perhaps, it was a case of misunderstanding each other.

No pay, no honey.... that is also true here.
