Will 7/11 Take A Foreign Mastercard?

Featured Replies

Really dont want to give the Thai bank 150baht ATM charge (an daily Issan wage) for privilege of buying a bottle of whiskey. Was wondering if 7/11 will take the card? If not its wait till tomorrow till money arrived in thai bank account.

I don't know if they'd take it, but wouldn't you pay a foreign transaction fee anyway?

As mightyharriss has already said, I don't think that 7-11s take plastic.

I know for definite that they do not accept Visa, even if it is issued locally.

Tiger.

One thing you could do is withdraw much more cash, i.e. enough to last you a few days, that way you're not using the 150 Baht charge just for the whiskey, but for (potentially) many other purchases also.

Lotus (Express) accepts plastic

Try Aeon ATM last time I used it with foreign card there was no charge.

Yes, I just found this out too. You can find an ATM near you at this link http://www.aeon.co.th/lang/en/menu/Service_Location/region/off/option/atm#branchATMForm

** You have to wait a few seconds after each selection before going on to the next (it is a slow script and/or connection)
