Living Next Door To Russians

2 or 3 years ago several condo companies advertised in English, now i notice the same companies only advertising in Russian. Just wondered what kind of neighbours they make as they don't seem to socialise with any other races.

I had Russian friends both in Germany and in the US. Always found them to be warm and

nice people, always reasonable and helpful. It's always difficult to generalize on an entire

race from just a few experiences. It's like saying that all brits are drunken hooligans ... which

is obviously not the case with every brit ... I am sure there are foul eggs in every nationality.

Picked up a conversation at a m/c store on sukhumvit road with a young guy, thought he

was german from his accent, turned out to be Russian. We had a very pleasant chat,

he spoke very good English.

I have noticed that many Russians in Pattaya do not speak very good English. That might

be the reason they keep to them self and are a bit alienated from the other population in

Pattaya.

I'd be happy to have a Russian friend :)

Cheers,

rudi

Ask a Norwegian .... I don't think they'd be very enthusiastic about living next door to russians. . . . from what I hear Russians can be kind of loud and obtuse, and don't really give a toss if their having a good time is messing with your Mojo or interrupting your sleep. Personally I've always found them to be very friendly, genuine people. I've even been 'caught' chatting up some girls and the boyfriend has come over to say hello - but rather than being agressive he was also quite friendly, although obviously there to retrieve his Missus.

Ah, I like the way you think, but trust me, I would have picked up on it. Besides, the Russian working girls are not backwards in coming forwards. wink.gif

Why are you guys being so politically correct? The guy has a legitimate worry in his mind, and so he asks. He didn't say he thought if would be bad or good. if you don't like what he said, an answer like "I have had good experiences with Russians or something similar would work. I happen to have some Russian tenants and I was very hesitant about it, after meeting many in Pattaya that were rude beyond belief in what seemed the norm. They are great tenants so far, allthough, they moved in a couple more families with them without asking [something we might think would happen with Russians from their culture] but no problems at all.

Anyone who thinks there are no differences between cultures out to go live with the Taliban [no I am not being racist, Ill bet there are some very nice Taliban

Side topic, we are overrun now with Russian tourists. Quite often I am approached by Russians who just start talking to me in Russian. (I can pass for about 100 nationalities, so no surprise). Anyway, please tell me a POLITE way to tell them I don't speak Russkie. Saying no Russkie or Nyet Russkie sounds like it may mean I want them to go home (which may be true, but I would like to be polite). So please help with the Russian relations ...

"2 or 3 years ago several condo companies advertised in English, now i notice the same companies only advertising in Russian. Just wondered what kind of neighbours they make as they don't seem to socialise with any other races. "

(Why can't I quote the first post in a thread?)

I've got Russian neighbours. They are youngish people - no idea how they manage to stay here visa-wise - who are very noisy and have no consideration for anyone else. (So no different from younger Germans, British or Australians there then. ) They seem to have very little money, and can't even afford a TV in the room. So they play silly games at all hours of the night and day to pass the time - noisy games, even at 3:00 AM. After much complaining by myself and others, they have quietened down a bit. There is a much older Russian couple on the same floor, and they have also complained about the noise these folk make. It's not a Russian or anti-Russian thing, there are irresponsible and inconsiderate people from all nations.

Love Russian ! They are our hookers providers in western Europe and most of the hottest porn actresses come from there, hahaha...

But it's true that Russian think that they are alone in this world, as they just try to speak Russian to everyone without thinking that you might not be Russian and not understand their bullshxt !

Hate all the ones i met, but of course people are different and you might find 1 for 1 million who is nice :-)
