Defenders will say something like, "it's where the jobs are." or "there's more sex for sale per sq.meter than other locales." Ok, fair enough, at least they're somewhat honest about their reasons for choosing to pay 6 to 10 times more than those of us who choose to reside in places which have cleaner air, friendlier locals, less gridlock, and fewer girlie shows.
