Harrywonka
Hi all, How long does it take to obtain the letter from Kasikorn verifying the amount in the account? (for immigration retirement extension purposes) Is it a matter of walking in, waiting and collecting or coming back to collect another day? CharlieH
Passbook and printed slip from ATM on day of submission usually works.
Lancelot
I got one here in Chiang Mai, 10 minutes and 100 baht.
lopburi3
If using bank account a letter of account balance is a normal requirement; as well as passbook/statement and copies. Recently an ATM receipt on day of application has also often been asked.
GreenSnapper
My branch in BKK always tries to let me come back 1-2 days later. I then make my "beaten dog" face and beg them to give it to me same day. "OK, go eat something and come back afterwards". I then go eat something. Costs are 100B. thailandbluegrass
The letter is a legal requirement however it is up to the officer to ask for it or not. In 10 years I have had to get probaly more then 10 of these for buying vehicles and other reasons and have always had to show it. When in doubt, do the easiest wether its 100 or 300 baht. or you will be sent back to the bank and probably will be to late to complete your business the same day. You can go to any bank branch for the letter - I would change your's if they treat you like that. K-Bank has a branch at Bangkok's Immigration Center and it takes 10 minutes and 100THB. lopburi3
Actually most banks will not make a letter for a different branch. You get at your branch or hqs. Chiang Watanna branch banks do offer this service (much more foreigner friendly) but a normal branch often will not.
jimmym40
I can confirm what lopburi just said above post. I went to CM branch and they said I have to go to the main passbook office where I opened the account, which was in Lamphoon.
GreenSnapper
So that means, when you move to another city, you should move accounts as well, otherwise large journey for next extension of stay ? I love Thai bureaucracy...
