I believe the chemical is pravastatin and that is usually the generic name. In Thailand, this med is widely sold as imported Mevalotin, which I don't think is a generic, but also a branded item. Since this is an old med and I know generics for it are available in other countries, I have been looking for a generic in Thailand. So far, no luck. At Fascino I had them look it up in the "book" and under pravastatin was listed mevalotin. They were vague about whether they ever stock pravastin generic and whether it even exists in Thailand, but so far two Fascino places didn't have it. So has anyone seen generic pravastation in Thailand, if so, how branded, and where?
