Looking For Hospital With Nuchal Translucency Test In Isaan

This test is performed with a simple ultrasound, which any hospital will have.

However need an Ob-Gyn familiar with the interpretation.

As I assume you know, the test must be done between 11 and 13 weeks of pregnancy, and is just a screening tool, it is not diagnostic.

The best medical facility in Isaan is IMO Srinagarind Hospital (Khon Kaen University hosp)

Thanks for you help Sheryl. You are correct that the NT Test combined with blood test should be done between 11-13 weeks of pregnancy to detect Downs Syndrome and is advised for women 35+ years old, and will require special Gyneae specialist to interpret the outcomes. My wife is located near Buriram that's why I asked for Korat and/or Surin.

We called around in Korat hospitals yeasterday without any outcome and Google also does not provide any info while searching.

I amsure these facilities would be available in Bangkok. Has anyone used it there? Any recommendations? Khon Kaen will be a bit farther than going to Bangkok.

Thanks again.

Do not know what map you are using but according to google earth:

Buriram to Khon Kaen 233 km about 3 hours 44 minutes

Buriram to Bangkok 394 km about 5 hours 54 minutes

Personally, from a distance standpoint, I would go with Khon Kaen!

Buckaroo,

I agree with what you're saying and knew it. I meant from a logistic from a pregnant woman point of view.

There is a direct bus to Bangkok, but will need to change bus/train from Korat to go to Khon Kaen.

Thanks for noticing.

Found services being available in BKK.

Regards

Any chance you can let m know where you decided to have this ultrasound done in BKK, and whether the lab did other tests as well as are usually done in the 11th to 13th week of pregnancy? I've just found out I'm pregnant, right before a long awaited trip to Thailand and Cambodia, and my 11th to 13th week will be during my trip. Would prefer to have the testing done while on the trip, rather than cut it short...and do you need any kind of requisition?
