3 years ago I bought a cable box. I was recommended to buy one rather than rent.

Ever since I've always had a problem paying my bill or ordering another months viewing.

I use Packet Gold because I like to watch football.

I can't buy it in my home town because the guy in the True Visions shop... yes the TRUE VISIONS SHOP doesn't know how to sell me a months viewing.

I drive to Udon Thani to the main True Visions shop and purchase 6 months at a time to save me going there every month.

I'm away at the moment so my wife took the 2 hour bus ride to get there today only to be told....

"We're not doing that anymore, promotion finished. You can not buy packet gold or platinum anymore. If you want gold or platinum you have to rent a box from us!"

What am I supposed to do with the box they already sold me? It's a disgrace.

Has anyone else encountered these problems? I bought a dish and a box which works perfectly but they want to come to my house and install a new one that I have to rent!!

TiT I suppose.... it does baffle me though.....

This box is nothing but a scam. It costs around 3 000 baht, yet when you rent from them you are paying around 170 baht.

I was with truevisions in BKK for 5 years and when i disconnected they haunted me for the box, mind you over 5 years i had paid more then double if not triple its worth.

back to the topic, i would contact them again, only because staff at True have no clue at all about anything. Every time you call or visit the store, if you speak to a different person, you will get a different answer.

Get your wife to phone up the call center and ask them, get her to do that every day over a week ( i have a bad feeling she would get different answer every day)

If the call center confirms that you CAN still buy, i am pretty sure you can purchase it over the phone paying with your credit card(well you could anyhow before)

I would follow your lead if I knew how to watch live tennis matches. Have any suggestions?

Cheers,

Hi Nocturn,

I agree, and would suggest that everyone else tells TrueVisions where to shove their "service", for want of a better description.

I gave it up two years ago, and have found that my time is better filled with other activities. Also, like you, I get all my news and entertainment needs from the Internet.

Thailand will never have a service culture under the current ways of thinking, so we should give up trying find it, especially in companies like True.

UBC True only works (occasionally) in the dry season only - wet season is a joke. I had an E16 error (server error) on my screen for three months and despite repeated calls, nothing so I cancelled the service - they still send me reminder to pay the three months the server was down - it is a total joke. But when you have a monopoly ..... thieving bastards. ph34r.gif

TrueVision are liars, cheats and can never be trusted. I would suggest you use the current box as a paper weight or door stop. I got Astro, had a buddy of mine register it under his address in Malaysia with deductions off my credit card. Their Platinum top of the line package is much cheaper than TrueVison. And everything is supported in English, yes ENGLISH. Plus they have more channel selections. Will never go back to TrueVision.

Quote of the Century: "Yes sir, sign up for our HD package and you can get the Soccer world cup in English" - TrueVison
