prity sure its 50 even if you have the funds, i had to wait until i was 50 i also had the funds, always a marriage visa

The simple answer is NO. You cannot get a "O-A" long-stay visa or retirement extension of stay unless you are at least 50 years old.

The not so simple answer is YES if you actually are asking about visa. You can - at least at some consulates - get a multi-entry non-immigrant visa for the purpose of checking out retirement options even if you are only 49.

The answer as said in no. You can not obtain a long stay (retirement) visa until you are over age 50. A multi entry non immigrant O visa is not a long stay (retirement) visa.
