Some businesses and political interest groups are trying to produce a debate for their own benefit, but almost all scientific evidence shows that we are changing the earth's climate by releasing large amounts of carbon into the atmosphere.

I have no idea what is causing this cool weather, but I like it. I haven't been able to wear my Boston Red Sox sweat shirt in years. First time yesterday, plus saving on the electric bill for A/c. If this is global warming bring it on.

Could the earth being knocked out of whack a couple of inches by the force of the earthquake have anything to do with this freaky weather change , maybe just a coincidental happening . The moon has an influence on tides and weather , I normally see it just looking up from my balcony , last night I had to lean over the rail to find it , it was still up there how-ever .

There are a few factors that influence climate on earth. The sun, moon, vulcanic activity (sun and moon gravitational pull) and..... well that is it.

Local 'climate' is influenced by cutting trees, erosion, agriculture, cities.

Small sample why a lot of measurements are invalidly used:

Temperature measurements that show an average rise in climates can be accounted to the different paint that is used to paint the housings of the temperature meters, growing of cities so that those metering points are now closer to them.

If you correct the average temperatures measured with those and you used that and used the same models that were used you would have 'proven' global cooling.

Dry,wet,cold and hot spells are happening all the time but because of our short live spans we are unable to 'remember' it.

Whatever people think the proof that global warming was a hoax for me was the announcement of world wide plans to tax people to avert it. Introducing a carbon trading platform headed by the biggest banks and renaming it to 'Global Climate' made that 100% sure.

I'm not sure about climate change, the climate is always changing and you need to look at thousands of years to determine anything. When I was young in the 1970's scientists were telling us that the biggest climate change threat was a new ice age.

And i think they were right. More independent research then. Now it is all about funding because research can not be done without expensive equipment and large budgets.

Try to get funding when you have strong evidence of global cooling and need money to research it more.

Still the most profound discoveries were made without the need for that and using mostly brain power. The reliance on computer models is too high. A very small mistake can cause large errors, such as the conclusion global warming is caused by co2.

Computer models now also run our economies, insurances, health care. And who is checking those models and funding the research? Banks, farma, water, power, etc..

Huge conflicts of interests.

I realize weather is basically the same in Thailand -except for the dry and wet season and the temperatures varying within a range of 10 degrees, but in other parts of the world, one day you can be wearing summer wear and the next thing you know, you need to wear a jacket for a couple days. Just because Thailand gets a couple days of "cooler" weather doesn't mean that it is due to global warming. If it lasts a month, then maybe. Here, I thought the rainy season had arrived a month earlier. Why doesn't the Thai weather men (scientists??) blame it on the earthquake in Japan. Blame it on the earth's axis being wobbled.

Why doesn't the Thai weather men (scientists??) blame it on the earthquake in Japan.

Tsunamis move huge amounts of water around, maybe it upset normal weather patterns. There was even snow Vietnam last night, in March!

Chilly Bangkok expected to last unti Friday

BANGKOK, 17 March 2011 (NNT)-The Meteorological Department revealed that due to western winds and high pressure spreading from China in the upper part of Thailand, heavy rains and strong gales can be expected today and tomorrow across Thailand.

Rains have been forecast for Bangkok and its vicinity where the temperature is expected to drop to 17-19 degree Celsius and reach between 25-27 degree Celsius at noon. 60% of the areas around Bangkok and its vicinity will be wet until Friday.

Fishermen in the lower part of the Gulf of Thailand have been warned to take extra cautions as waves are expected to reach 2-3 meters in height.

But up here in Khon Khen/Udon today at 1pm a temperature of 15c is way down to the norm of 30c---what was striking was the wind chill factor---my friend ex pat visited me and we both said --for March. it WAS cold..and both of us commented it felt like an october morn in England, we both had woolies on. 555555555
