Nathon Taxi..?

Featured Replies

hello folks, any info appreciated.........

getting the train down to samui in a few days..... always flown before, but giving the train/ferry/ a try this time.......

my question is....

ive always been under the impression its 300 baht for a taxi ride ,,hardly ever use them and never got a taxi from nathon to chaweng before.... is it still 300 for this longer distance???? want to know before hand, IN CASE the driver trys it on!! (as if!!!!) :o

cheers

If we're going to take a taxi we always pay only 300 baht from Nathon to Chaweng. Though I have heard drivers ask for 400 or even 500.

We generally rent a motor bike in Nathon, it's convenient as we drop it off again on our way home. We always leave our car in Don Sak.

Songthaews(Two bench taxis) are available at the pier. 50 baht to Chaweng.

Meter(!) Taxis will prob. ask for 400 baht. You can negotiate.

as Valentinoxxx said, just take local taxi (Songtyaw) 50 Baht/head and that's it. Yellow A/C taxis will charge you more than 300 Baht per ride.

You can still negotiate the price but 300 B looks the final to me...

If you travel with somebody or can find someone at the pier to share you can always reach Chaweng for the same price but in A/C...!

It takes 30 minutes max anyway so no big deal.
