A few pics from yesterday's R2M SuperNaked race at Thailand Circuit-

On the starting grid. Colin is #33, Luke is #27.

Yours truly #3

Big Fazer 1000 #25

Love this Buell Thunderbolt-

Khun Vichuan can really make it move!

Luke won by a mile-

I think he even had time for a nap

229422_10150191878162976_715952975_6800234_3562872_n.jpg

Seems Colin enjoyed a fun battle with the Buell-

225413_1872652448543_1008117020_31759461_5982967_n.jpg

They traded places a number of times and I'm not actually sure who was across the finish line first?

226233_1872656688649_1008117020_31759506_6930592_n.jpg

248963_1872656848653_1008117020_31759508_3233929_n.jpg

I got stuck behind the big Fazer 1000 for 5 laps and by the time I already got around him didn't have enough time to catch Colin. :(

250288_1872650608497_1008117020_31759445_1300487_n.jpg

Trying to catch Colin-

226718_1872655968631_1008117020_31759499_4613439_n.jpg

Still, we all finished and we all made it to the podium, so can't complain!

May22R2MSuperNakedPodium3.jpg

I'm a bit surprised there weren't more competitors but it was the first SuperNaked race and hopefully there will be more bikes at the next one!

Big thanks to Kraitos for creating this new class in R2M!

Looking forward to chasing Colin and Luke again at the Kawasaki Track Day at Bonanza Khao Yai on June 11th.

Let the Good Times ROLL!

Tony

great little report there tony, yes would be good to see a few more riders turn up. The series is the ideal environment for anyone wanting to either test or improve their skills on a racetrack. The atmosphere is friendly and relaxed, and its a dam_n sight safer than caning it around on the roads. Hopefully the recent reports and coverage will stimulate some more interest for the next round in July.

Woo-Hoo!!

Tony, One of the most prominent riders up here seems to think that the Kawasaki track day has been shifted to Kaeng Krachan....do you know anything about this???, he also seems to think that we have to register before June 10th. Strange and Im a bit confused up here, could you try and clarify any more details about the event when you have time!! cheers and roll on the event wherever it is going to be held. Cant Wait!!!

Hmmmm, I'll swing by Kwackerzaki and try to get some confirmation tomorrow, ok? They've never required pre-registering before... I think you can pre-register but I don't think it is required. Will let you know. Ride On! T

ps. We got rained out at BIRA on Monday... The boyz are thinking about hitting Bonanza or Thailand Circuit this weekend. Kaeng Krachan could also be an option. Come on down and scrub in those new Diablo Superbikes! T

Hiya Kacee!

Not allowed to link to other forums but if you go to the GT Rider forum and do a search for "temporary import" you should be able to find the info you are looking for.

Ride On!

Ok, Kaeng Krachan confirmed on the 18th. If they change the venue or date again I'm gonna punch somebody! Can pre-register but not required. Was told there is more info on the KSRThailand site but so far I haven't managed to sniff it out...

Tony I have just pre-registered, they told me it was so they can rent the correct number of transponders for the race. Didnt cost anything so I did it anyway, probably wasnt necessary though!

I am gonna head down wednesday from chiang mai and hit thailand circuit thursday to scrub in those pirelli's!! then head on down to the keang krachan area that thursday night.

Im told that we are allowed to practice at the kaeng krachan track on friday so I was gonna do that aswell before the race saturday..

anyone thinking of hitting thailand circuit thursday??

cheers!!

A lap at Bonanza Circuit, a new track at Khao Yai, Thailand. GoPro on Kawasaki ER6n

Dangerous as hell with no facilities or proper run outs but a fun technical track in a beautiful spot with huge potential.

Let the Good Times ROLL!

Fantastic I agree but very dangerous. Let's see if they listen to people and make it a lot better. Love those sweeping lefts and rights.

Yes, well, it's obviously still a work in progress and if they want it to succeed and draw any big events they'll certainly need to finish the job. I understand that the family that owns Bonanza is quite involved in motor sports and just making the track in the first place is quite an investment, so let's hope they'll finish the job and make it a world class facility.

Congratulations to Colin for taking first! Luke was hot on his tail for 2nd and these two speed demons will face off again next month at the R2M SuperNaked series at Thailand Circuit.

My apologies to Esat who I hit during the morning practice- I didn't think we made hard contact but turns out I snapped off his left footpeg and sent him to the hospital for a possible broken foot... ouch.gif

Glad to hear you are ok Esat!

Which bike you taking? ER6 or GSXR? My ER6n is at Kawasaki now trying to figure out whats wrong with the FI, hopefully i'll get it back before the weekend.

Still waiting on a new throttle tube for the Gixxer so will be taking the ER6. Saw your bike at Kwackerzaki earlier today- hope they can get it sorted without too much delay. Hope to see you at BIRA on Monday! T
