Thai Drivers License

I have a Thai driver’s license valid for 5 years. As I now have changed my address in Thailand I need to have the address changed on the license.

As I no longer have a non-immigrant visa (a condition to get the Thai license) will there be any problems when I go to get the address changed on my license?

A couple of years ago when we moved to our current house I went to change the address on my license and they told me i had to go to the embassy, in my case US, and get the notarized form with my new address on it. I didn't bother to change the address because I didn't feel like paying another $30 to the embassy for the noterized form.

I have changed the address on my drivers license before but then I did have a non-immigrant visa so no problems. The problem this time is that I do not have this visa anymore.

I know you need a non-imm visa to renew the license so I don't want to go there and try as they may take the license away.

Anyone been in the same situation before ?
