Where'S The Qm Anchored?

Featured Replies

Webcam on the QM doesn't look like Patong Bay.

Is it elsewhere due to the west coast swell?

anyway QM leaving in 1.5 hours, so not really a lot of time anymore, to have a look..

last time QM was in patong but expected to anchor at the port of phuket (cape panwa..)

Cheers.

Next call is in India, so may get a decent view as it goes past Promthep.

so did the tuks tuks cause any promplems?

No they were effectively shut out of it by Cunard. There had been a huge spat last year when Cunard passengers were being charged ridiculous sums from Phuket port. It seems like Cunard's complaints got them nowhere with the local tourist authority - they got no answer to their correspondence to TAT according to a local paper. So they moved to Patong and organised buses and vans.

As I reported on another thread, I was picking a friend up when it landed and it was deep joy to watch the tuk tuk guys being unable to park in the near vicinity and hopefully but mostly unsuccessfully trying to ply a bit of trade on the extremities

Not a very attarctive ship, especially for a cruise ship, but I'll bet it's got a sweet engine room.
