Anyone had recent experience contacting British consulate Chiang Mai?

The recorded message says that " the British consulate Chiang Mai is now closed, please contact us mon to fri beween 9am and 1130am"

I am calling at 940am and still getting the same message.

I hope that does not mean "they are closed" !!!!

Also:-

I presume you need to make an appointment to get a Proof of Income letter.

They are probably busy today and romorrow maybe closed for a buddist holiday. Why not pay them a visit between 9am and 11.30am. They are very helpful. You take evidence of your income with you and you can normally pick up the proof of income letter next day..

I have made several, non appointment, visits. I have always got there early to avoid any possible queuing. Always had friendly, efficient and prompt service.

Thank you...

Do they only accept bankers drafts or will they take cash (the current fee seems to be 2,408 TB + 200TB admin fee...am I correct?)

They took cash from me last year and gave excellent service.

I hope for a repeat performance in July.
