Hi all !!

It might be a very basic question but since I couldn't find any answer for it on any website easily, I'd like to search someone who may know answer.

We are newly married couple, none of us are Thai. We haven't registered our marrige in Thai goverment yet but we have marrige certificate in other country.

As I am planning to get job and my wife probably not, I would like to ask how will the visa process and requirement for my wife after I get working permit - as a family, I am sure I need to get necessary documents from company which I'm going to ask them, aside from that is there anything else for us (her) to prepare, i.e. Marrige certificate / bank state ????

I had so many cased around me for Thai wife but we're not Thai so I need some help from others! Thanks :)

Thank you!!!

If you get a 12 month extension of stay from Immigration your Wife can also get a 12 month extension as your dependent.

If you only have a Visa obtained from a Thai Consulate she must obtain Visas on her own merit.

Since both of you are foreigner, no need to register the mariage in Thailand. But if the marriage certificate is not in English, immigration might want to see an official English translation.

Once you have a work permit and extension of stay, your wife basicly asks for an extension of stay with only the marriage certificate as your dependent.

Marriage certificate and copy of your passport with one year extension of stay will be required. Wife will have to obtain a non immigrant O visa using that and can then extend stay to match yours. Suspect translation of marriage into Thai may be required to obtain visa (especially if not in English) and suspect Immigration will require in English or Thai. There is no financial requirement for dependent (but you will have to obtain one year extension of stay).
